for Bob Dalrymple .  We (Babbie and Bill) belatedly express our
sympathy.
Babbie is away and I am not computer adept or we would not be so
slow.
We will pray  for you.
We understand that in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Garnet
may be made to the Valley Presbyterian Church or to the LaPosada Foundation in
Green Valley, AZ.  Our prayers are with Bob in his loss--Joe Miller

HI BEN NEIL BLANTON HERE, ITS KIND OF FUNNY BUT I WAS IN THE NAVY ALSO ON
THE USS ENTERPRISE CVN-65 SAME AS CHRIS LINDER'S BROTHER BUT NOT AT THE SAME
TIME.I GUESS WE DO LIVE IN A SMALL WORLD.
Big Hi,  We are unable to attend the Fla. reunion. June has her
six
weeks follow-up on her back surgery on the 25th. I have a colonoscopy
on
the 26th, and gall bladder surgery on Feb. 8.  So, please have a
great
time, if you are going, and remember us to the gang.  Until
next
time............. God bless,

Good
morning,

I see a lot
of great information about the various 517th Companies in the fantastic web site
material and in the wonderful email program that you make available; however, I
seldom see anything about the Service Company which I assume was an integral
part of the PRCT.

Question:

Am I missing
something about how the 517th was organized or is there just a dearth of
information on the Service Company?

Thanks.  Harris

Ben. yes, I'm back on the e-mail return BUT
my typing has not
improved, I am in the
recovery stage of having had a back operation
to
try to rectify a nerve problem AND am slowly
getting back to normal.
This
back operation "bit" is a slow recoup
and has me thinking I can get going in a
hurry
BUT in reality is making me realize it is a very
slow and time
consuming "drill" with no
alternative BUT TO BE patient (and I was
never
known for my patience)
I had hopes of making the 517 reunion
coming
up shortly but my walking progress is just
moving slowly and I
doubt if I can make the
next gathering.
Keep me on the info-list and
I'll be back ASAP.

Hello 517th,
The Crawford and Wilhoit family are getting
together for lunch and a long talk here in Lafayette, IN.
For those who don't know, Bob Crawford of
"A" Co. probably saved my fathers life by relieving him of the
SCR300 radio and helping him out of an open field, under heavy mortar fire,
at Bergstein Feb 8 '45. Gene "Zoot" Snyder backs this account of
events.
Bob passed away in 2004 but my brother and
I will be forever grateful to the Crawford
family.
More to follow,
Jeff (Son of Sgt. Bill Wilhoit "A" Co.

To Col. Cross,
I wonder how I could access those medical records
to see if there were any mention of my Cousins death on Jan. 6/1945 at Bergeval
His name was Pvt. Layton Pippin, " H" company. Thanks, Morris
McDowell.
