Martha Berg
Hello Ben,
Please tell Bob Christie that Oscar
Berg has received the 4th Quarter
Thunderbolt and wants to thank him so
much. It arrived a couple days ago .
He really enjoys it. (This
is his wife Martha) Oscar doesn't use the
computer anymore, so I do all the
correspondence for him. As a matter of
fact -
I too enjoy the
Thunderbolt, so we both thank him for all the hard work.
Ben, as I have
said many times before - we all owe you a debt of gratitude
for your
continuously
"keeping us together". We love you for it.

Ben,
Thank you for sharing
the e-mail message from Howard regarding my father, El Harger.
As a family, we have
sorted through many things of necessity both material and emotional. The coming
months will be good for all as we look to honor our father this
summer.
We will have a notice
out soon regarding a Celebration of Life “memorial service” to take place the
weekend of July 29th,
2006 in Munising, Michigan. I expect a strong
component of that weekend will feature my father’s involvement in the
517th.
We may need to check
back in with you and others as we look to put together an accurate chronology of
his service at that critical time in our nation’s history. He has kept records
of so many of these stories that we never really heard all about in a full
context while growing up in his home. Learning more and appreciating all the
sacrifice made by so many in those days will be good for everyone involved in
his Celebration of Life this summer.

Just letting
you know that I have not received my Thunderbolt. Is there going to be a
registration form in this issue for the Portland reunion or will it be later?

**************
I'm sure it will be in a later Thunderbolt
and we will have the registration form on the web site soon. How about
also coming to the Palm Springs reunion in April .Bill Christian and other
West Coast members always have been able to put on a good show.-Ben
Barney Hekkala
From Barney Hekkala, A Company. Manual Camacho, A Company, joined me and my
wife Lee for a fun lunch here at our place in Carlsbad. Instead of fighting the
war again, we chatted about Manny's upcoming pleasure cruise to
Europe and our future reunions which we hope go on forever.
Barney.
********
Barney, how about starting future reunions by coming to the Palm Springs in
April?-Ben
Walt Smith
Ben, it's late Sunday evening and I just received your
#1046 email. It screams loudly from concerned trooper members of the
reality of the limitations of the abilities of those remaining to continue at
the high level of the past in the support of this great organization. H.
Hensleigh expounded on the possibility of the auxiliary stepping in and easing
the load and gradually taking over. God bless the auxiliary and 'Long
Live the Auxiliary'! Would that I had the ability and
Energy!
On another note, I also
received the last quarter Thunderbolt.
