Hello 517th,
Our family has finally met the Crawford family. We had a wonderful evening here in Lafayette, IN. For those of you who are not familiar with the story,
Pvt. Bob Crawford of A Co. is the hero that saved my father's life (Sgt. Bill Wilhoit). He saved the SCR300 and drug the wounded communicator out of an open field at the battle of Bergstein. Bob's Bronze star commendation and Gene "Zoot" Snyder back this account up.
As fate would have it, three of the four Crawford children and the Patriarch of the clan "Mother Jean" live within 2 hours of Lafayette. Bob's daughter Gloria and her husband Denny only live 10 mins. from Sandy and I. Small world huh.
You can bet there will be more on this story from myself and Ted Crawford.

Hey Ben, I talked to Fred Harmon today, he is doing pretty well, his eye lid is drooping, & he has a problem seeing. Otherwise he is doing fairly well. I gave him Claude Bynum's address & phone number. He wants to call & talk with Claude. I brought him up to speed on the sick & those that have passed on recently.
