Hello,
Chris Lindner

Hi Ben:

Well it has been a long week for Darrell Egner but it looks like GOOD NEWS.  Darrell had a heart cath done today and he did not have any arteries clogged.  His son Chris told me that he has congestive heart failure which is fluid around the lungs and heart.  They will be giving him medication and possibly making some adjustments to the pace maker he has.  Darrell’s son said that he will be in the hospital at least until Monday but it could be longer because they want to make sure the medication clears up the fluid around the heart and lungs.

So this is good news for Darrell.  He will not have to have heart surgery for stints or any bypasses.

Chris

Hi Ben:

I talked to Darrell today.  He told me that it was fine for you to tell his friends what has been going on with him.  He is not sure how long he will be in the hospital.  Of course he is hoping to get out Monday but I will be surprised if he does.

Boy there sure has been a ton of discussion on mail call over the “white parkas”.  It reminds me when there was the discussion of the “clickers”.

I hope you and your family is doing well.

Chris

Hi Ben ---

Many thanks for the Mail Calls ---- I truly enjoy reading each and every one of them even if I don't know the writer.    And many, MANY thanks for sending Irma Targnion's Story ----- I had the pleasure of meeting her and Arnold when I was on the Bill Lewis trip to Europe in '99.  What a wonderful trip - started out with a bus full of strangers to me except for Rayma Sanford, and ended with a bus full of friends.     Thank you again.

Thanks Ben.

We are starting to finalize elements of an itinerary for the El Harger Celebration of Life Memorial weekend.

Then we will start pulling together details for several displays and tributes.  Any and all information on our father’s roll with the 517th will be helpful.

I will send out information to all possibly interested in contributing or attending the festivities,

Greg Harger
