Henri was a french resistant in the DZ,(photo1) he met this paratrooper and fought together when he jumped near Lorgues and kept his photo after all these years.
When we met Henri some years ago at the museum, he show us this photo and after many month of research  our friend Clark Archer gave us the good new that the paratrooper was identified as "Houston COUCH, B company 517th, Henri was so happy, and we met Houston at Palm Springs 1997 reunion.. he was in the stick of Lt. HILLSDALES, with Ed JORDAN, Jesse K DAVIS (demo platoon, wounded in Lorgues) and other B company men. Unfortunately he never want to answer to Henri letters and be in touch...make Henri so sad.
Last week, Henri call because he founded 2 other photos given by paratroopers in august 1944 as a souvenir.. he remember the liberations fights but also a good drink in "cafe du theatre" when Draguignan german headquarter

 

was captured. On the back of the photo the date is 22nd of august.. may be those guys were not from the 517th, but the 551st, but I think that we have chance to identify them and keep in touch with henri..
