Hello,

We want to thank Captain John W, Lubas and B Co. of his 2nd Ranger Battalion for attending our reunion and for their theater  presentation . All members of the 517th PRCT thank them for serving in today's armed forces.
The Rangers may not wish to comment, but I am certain that today's armed forces could wipe out the towel heads if the media would get out of the way  and our government would let them fight the way that they are trained.

Dear Mr. Barrett and veterans of the 517th PRCT,

On behalf of the Rangers of B Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion, I would like to thank you for your hospitality during your Portland Reunion.  We were honored to spend the afternoon with the veterans and families of the 517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team and truly enjoyed sharing memories and combat experiences.  Your heroic legacy has inspired generations of men to proudly serve as soldiers, paratroopers and Rangers and we strive to follow your remarkable example in combat.

Like the paratroopers of the 517th, our Rangers fight for freedom, democracy and the American way of life.  The 75th Ranger Regiment has been fighting continuously in the Global War on Terrorism since March 2002, and we will continue to honor your legacy by destroying terrorist elements around the world that wish our nation harm.

Thank you for your service and sacrifices.  We look forward to seeing you again.

 “Rangers Lead the Way!”

Ben,
My father, Donald Fraser, my sister, my niece, and I enjoyed our time at the Portland Reunion.  Thanks for everyone's hard work.
We look forward to the Washington, D.C. 2007 Reunion in June. We strongly support the legacy of the 517th and encourage not only the troopers but their spouses, widows, children, grandchildren and friends to attend the reunions.  Through our sharing of stories, pictures, and memorabilia our troopers will live on "forever."  Having the reunion in June affords teachers, students, and children to be able to attend.  For some families the only way the troopers can attend is if they are brought by the children, grandchildren, and friends, and they have to be off work or on vacation to do that.
This is the ideal time for everyone to participate, since teachers are not leaving their classroom and students are not skipping school.  Having it in Washington, D.C. will provide a wide range of museums, monuments, and activities to do.  Let's all plan to be there ! ! !

Ben, I am glad to hear all went well and all who attended the reunion enjoyed it. I read with interest the story of Scott Atkinson in this mail call. Could you please forward me his e-mail as my Uncle was one of those KIA in the building in Sospel. I would like to hear more of the details and maybe some pictures of the building as it sits today. Thanks for your help and God Bless Airborne

Hi Ben:  We had a wonderful time at the reunion.  We want to thank both the Frice family and Davis family for all of the hard work that they put into this reunion.  Those kids really outdid themselves and we all appreciated their efforts to make us comfortable.  Emily gave us the ride of our lives on the golf cart and we had a lot of fun whizzing around those corners.  There was a lot to see and we saw it all with the help of the tours.  We really enjoyed talking to the Rangers and they were so impressed with the 517th website.  Said it was the best they had ever seen.  Thanks again to  the Frice and Davis families for such a good time.

Hi, Ben -

I just spoke with Leo Dean (HQ) last night, and he was full of details about the Portland reunion.  We're sad to have missed it, but are happy that it went so well.  Congratulations to the most energetic Frice women, the Davis clan - especially Jeanne - and the Gilbert family as well.  It sounds like you did a great job for our troopers, and all of those of us who couldn't come thank you for helping to keep the guys together and in touch.

We're getting ready for the tour de France and Italy, starting in 10 days or so.  Stay tuned.

Not sure if Scott Atkinson's email meant for anyone interested in his uncle's transcribed oral history to request same.  If so, I would like to get a copy of it since my father (Walter A. Locker, Jr.) was in Company D.  Thank you.
