Hi,
I am Filip and live in Belgium, about 2
hours drive from Bastogne and I maintain and have built the 463rd PFA
site.
I am looking for someone who can help me
about the T.O. and equipment of a Parachute Field Artillery
Battalion.
I'd like to know besides 4 Batteries
and HQ Battery, which guns there were, which vehicles, and a bit about
special sections,
as machine gun sections
etc..
Any idea ?
Friendly regards, vriendelijke groeten, salutations amicales,
Tom
Reber
I will be on temporary work assignment North of Atlanta for the next 4
weeks, to help out a struggling facility. While there (Pendergrass-Buford,
GA), I will make a pilgrimage to Toccoa, to view the old 517th stomping grounds
and Currahee. If allowed, I will take my bad knees up and down it, but
surely at a much slower pace than you troopers did 60 some years ago.
Communicating with me could prove to be a challenge during this next month,
but I hope to overcome those challenges.
I was interested to see the signed photo of General Zais. I
have a signed photo of my father and the general at Zais' retirement,
with Mickey Marks in attendance. It was the last 517th related event my
father attended before he died (Dec. 1976).
Anyway, I hope people are in good health and in even better spirits.
Best regards,
Tom Reber
