Ben,  We finally took care of the the citations and the first volume of the BLUE BOOK.  I sent them directly to Bob, Thanks. Heather

Note to Tom Reber - This weekend (Oct 13-15)  will be a reunion of the troopers who trained at Currahee.  There will be many veterans and also re-enactors and other great tributes.  Please join us - I will be there.    It would be great to have fellow 517th members or decedents.  .  Will be up there both nights.  The best show will be on Saturday.  Hope to meet you,
Heather Cowan Riley - daughter of Pvt. Ian Cowan - Co. B - 517th

Hello Ben,

Well...change of plans...now I am assigned to work near Columbus, OH and it may become permanent.  So much for the Currahee trip!  I will have the same communications challenges, but I will let you know later.  At least this assignment is only about 3.5 hours away versus 6.5 hours away.

I don't relish being surrounded by so many Buckeye fans, since I am a former Badger, but at least it is Big Ten territory, albeit hostile.  I will be working a start up operation from the ground up, on very little lead time.  Have patience with my response times, as I will be very busy for quite some time.

My best to all,

Tom Reber

Dear Ben,

 Hope all ok for you.

I just went through the new pictures posted on the website, it is fantastic. So many were taken in Nice!!

I permit myself to revert to you in order to solicit the attention of the association members regarding a binoculars case I found, which was used by Pvt. Charles P. Bole (HQ 3rd – attached to I Co.) – see pictures. Maybe someone remembers him / has information on him?

 Thanks in advance,

Frederic (Nice, Maritime Alps)

Subject: The Last Support Payment

Today my baby girl's 18th birthday I be so glad that this be my last
>child support payment! Month after month, year after year, all those damn
>payments! So I call my baby girl, LaKeesha, to come to my house, and when
>she get there, I say, "Baby girl, I want you to take this check over to yo
>momma house and tell her this be the last check she ever be gettin' from
>me, and I want you to come back and tell me the 'spression on yo mama's
>face." So, my baby girl take the check over to her momma. I be anxious to
>hear what she say, and bout the 'spression on her face. Baby girl walk
>through the door, I say, "Now what yo momma say 'bout that?" She say to
>tell you that "you ain't my daddy" .. and watch the 'spression on yo face.
