Ben

Hi, Ben -

It's exciting - we're only three weeks and a couple of days from reunion time in DC!  We're happy to hear that we'll have over 250 at our banquet thus far, and that our rooms are nearly sold out.

HOWEVER, if you're reading this and feeling like you're missing out on fun, or your plans have changed and you think you might be able to make it, take heart.  We will probably have a bit of movement and it's nearly impossible that someone won't have to cancel.  That means that it's likely that there may be some availability of rooms at our advertised rate in the next week or two.

If you want to attend and have not responded yet, today is the day.  Please get your forms in the mail or write for my email address.

Another reminder for those NOT on the internet: if you are reading this online, and you have a buddy not online, please contact him and bring him up to speed.  We don't want anyone to miss out on this party in our nation's capitol!

Email me with any questions - we are so looking forward to this reunion!

Warm regards to all -

Claire Giblin, reunion co-chair

It dawned on me that very few people know that we have a new Treasure.  As Bob Christie was over-worked and underpaid.  He resigned so he could devote more time to publishing the Thunderbolt.  The 517 Bank account has been transferred to Leo Dean who is now the Secretary/Treasurer of the 517.

Starting now please send all monies and dues to Leo Dean, our new Treasurer.  His address follows:

Leo Dean
14 Stonehenge Lane

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bob Christie for the many years of hard work handling the two biggest jobs in the 517 PRCT.  THANK YOU BOB!

BEN:  This afternoon I looked at our reservation for activities today.  I mistakenly checked Parade (but we can't stay up that late!)  Tell me who/phone????  and I  will take care of it.  My brain is fried since last week when my purse and all items were stolen...I'm glad I caught this now, but hate to bother you again.   Billie Hiers

West Coast Reunion ‘07

Thanks to the Troopers and family members who attended the ’07 West Coast Reunion. We were lucky to find a new location since the Ramada Inn is still under construction. Comments were favorable of the new Quality Inn location after a fun barbeque in the park and a great banquet and raffle drawing at the Country Club overlooking the golf course.

A big thanks to all the ladies who again provided delicious snacks and the Troopers whose generosity kept the bar well stocked.

Looking forward to ’08 God willing.

Teri Marrone

Hi, Donna and Ben -

Could these changes be made?  I can go into the details on the phone.

Claire

On Tue Jun 5 10:48 , Teri_Marrone@nps.gov sent:

Hi Claire,

I have looked over your website and I was wondering if you can have these
changes made .... just to cover us regarding the phone call the other day.
Both PDF and web page format need to be changed.

Schedule- 10:00am-4:00pm Liberty Jump Team, Inc. Luncheon

Description- Saturday, June 30
You are in for a treat today, literally! We have learned the Liberty Jump
Team will be at the Manassas Regional Airport executing a static line jump,
wearing uniforms from the Operation Dragoon jump. This group has jumped
both stateside and overseas honoring WWII airborne veterans. We are
excited about the opportunity of them specifically honoring the veterans of
the 517th. Preliminary plans include a hospitality area for socialization,
static displays of WWII airborne memorabilia, WWII vehicles, and army
equipment. After their awe-inspiring jump, The Liberty Team plans to host
our group for a light luncheon and social time at a nearby American Legion
Post.

Thanks!
