Hello Mr. Barrett!!

Dad is doing o.k. under the circumstances.  He seems to me to be less mobile than when we were with you in Washington last June.  The docs don't seem to think it is in his legs, but perhaps a back related issue.  He is also somewhat depressed (I'm guessing due to his problems from the accident, but also from seeing the deteriorization of Mom from the Alzheimer's disease.  I hope you have a marvelous time at the reunion in Kissimmee.  PLEASE!!!----do give our best to all attendees from Dad and us also.  I think the best time Dad has had at a social occasion since the accident just over a year ago was the time we shared in Washington D.C. last June together meeting all of the people associated with the great 517th.  Thank you Mr. Barrett and your family for the kindness you extended to all of us at the reunion.  Pete Jansson. So sorry to see Col. Boyle doesn't think he will make the reunion either. P.

Note that the WACs on the left are sorting mail for Units 504-598.
There is probably plenty of mail for the 517th soldiers in this picture.

Hello Ben!

Happy New Year!! I think of you so often and continue to enjoy “mail call” and hearing of the activities of all the vets. Did I tell you I LOVED the photos of the servicemen from WWI who created images like the Statue of Liberty that were photographed from aerial angles? I forwarded them to my nephews so they would have them to use for reports in their history classes in school.

Mary Jane

Greetings, my name is Stephen D. Fleming, Uncle Emery (Joshua) passed away in Gainesville Florida, a number of Years ago.  I would love any information on his Company from Survivors of "D" Company for his Wife and family.  I am medically retired due to wounds received in both Iraq and Afghanistan, any information would be greatly appreciated.  I have a copy of his discharge papers if that would be helpful.

Very Respectfully

Just wanted to say thank you for your efforts with the 517th website. I continue to read, view, and enjoy the site.
I located a comment about my dad Lenard Del Carlo, aka Pvt. "Earborn" Del Carlo in Thunderbolt Vo. 1, pg.3 in the article "Hubub In Hdqts. 1st." Thanks again!
