Hi, Ben -
Well, all I can say is that if Darrell has
changed our hotel because the banquet room will hold 400 instead of 300, we had
better hit 301!!! No pressure there!
Let's all start committing to St. Louis:
get your registrations in! Darrell's expecting us! Bring friends,
family and total strangers!
See you in St. Louis!

Hi All:
I just wanted to add a little note to Darrell Egner's letter.
Westport Plaza is located in a great area in St. Louis. There are two
hotels in Westport Plaza 1) the Sheraton Towers the other 2) the Sheraton
Chalet. Both of these hotels are in Westport Plaza. One is on one end
and the other on the other end. So I guess what I am trying to say is that
even though we have switched hotels (we will be using the Sheraton
Chalet) we have not switched areas. These hotels are about a 2 minute
walk from one another.

TO THE ENTIRE 517TH FAMILY:
My sister, Bev and I want to thank all of the many people that have
offered their time and help for the reunion that we will be having in June,
2008. It is a pleasure to co-chair this reunion with Bev and the members
of the 517th Family.
We have gotten so many offers to help with the reunion and we think
it is so wonderful and we are looking forward to working with everyone.
Bev and I are very excited about the reunion and we want to THANK
everyone for there help and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone in
June. I know that we will all have a great time at the
reunion.
Thanks again to all of you.

Dear friend
Ben:
It was
not clear to me who requested the list but assumed that it was you. However
there are several who have passed from my old Hq 1st that my fading memory can
not recall exact names. The clearer ones in my mind were in the Como
platoon. All Hq 1ST:

Eugene
Camplin
Danny Fisher (died the
morning of the invasion)
........FADED MEMORY, WILL TRY TO RECALL
MORE LATER.

Ben, Jesse has compiled this
list of 460th Hq deceased. I think it is correct. He did have some on the list
that I did know that are not deceased, but I think I got all of those off the
list. If I missed some, I am sorry. There are probably more, but these are the
ones we know about. LOU

Thanks to the work of Jim and Claire Giblin
for the scanning, and the kindness of Allan Johnson of the 596 to share some of
his photos, I have new pictures of the men from the 596 PCEC to share with all
on my site.
Unfortunately, many were not identified
with names and/or places so I am seeking help. The pictures of the men can be
viewed starting here;
... and the places can be viewed
here;
This one specifically caught my
eye;
It has a make-shift structure that was
tagged "The Lost Cause", with (Al) Goodman and (Don) O'Neill's names prominently
posted. Maybe there are some stories associated with this
one.
Each one of these pictures start at minimum
resolution for viewing. Clicking on them will cycle through all resolutions
(standard, good, better, best). All pictures can be saved to your local
computer, by right clicking on the image of choice and selecting
"Save Picture As" and save to your local computer.
Bob/Ben... as always, feel free to take any
of the pictures that you see fit. As I get the descriptions, I will pass them
on.

For President Darrell Egner, Thank you for your fine
message . It is ,indeed, a unique "outfit ": none like it . I consider myself
extremely fortunate to be numbered among the finest soldiers that ever fought
for Uncle Sam . And now , our splendid auxiliary has really stepped up to
perpetuate our legacy . I plan to attend St Louis and Palm Springs as I am in
good health this time around . Blessings . Bob Dalrymple, 596th, 517th
