Everyone should try to contact a member who has not
yet signed up for the reunion, especially members and friends not on the
internet, and persuade them to come to St. Louis. Time is getting short in
more ways than one. Only 45 days left before this gathering and it may be the
last big bash for the 517. We still hope to have reunions as long as the
Auxiliary with the help of the AFR can handle the work load. The future may be only mini reunions. The fact is that the veterans for the most part are
reaching nearly 90 plus years. We were invincible at twenty but time has taken
its toll . I am losing more members on the Mail Call roster than gaining new
members and most new members are grand children. "Old Soldiers never die, they
just fade away"
