> hello friends,
this morning before the boarding, Patricia has felt faint. So, the doctors don't want she takes another flight !!

We have to cancel all our trip.
We are back home now, she is sleeping.
We are very upset, it was, for us, a real happiness, to see all of you again.

Ben, we have had prepared a speech for the 517e, the Mayor of Sospel has given to us a gift for the 517e.
we are going to try to record a DVD of this speech and send to you at the hotel of St Louis par Chronopost. I don't know if it will be easy to do it but we could try.

We miss all of you.
and waiting for you in Sospel in October 2009 for the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Sospel

Hi Ben,

I was wondering if you would add my brother, David to your email list to receive “Mail Call.” His email is d.hanron@earthlink.net . I often share it with him and he loves it…he reads every word!! His kids have used it, too for reference for school.

Thanks so much.

Hi Ben:

TO MICHAEL WELLS,

By all means please bring the paper that you would like the veterans to sign.  I know they would be happy to sign this for you (as Ben has already said) and I think it would be a very special thing to have in your office.

What a great idea you had.

Dear Ben,

I hope you are doing well. I am really sad that I cannot join you all at the forthcoming reunion, but it is a long way from Nice….I wish you all plenty of good time, and would like to thank you again for the kind invitation to join you.

This email concerns a recent exceptional story:

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to find a dog tag in the Col de Braus area. The tag was with several US and French coins from the 30’s. Apparently, the chain broke du to the weight of the coins.

After a short search, I identified the tag to be from Pvt. Richard L. Whidden of 517th – D Company. I continued my investigation in the US Social Security records, and discovered that Richard Whidden died in 2000 in Florida, unfortunately.

However, I had the possibility to get in touch with his son Marc, who kindly communicated to me a few pictures of his father, most of the them taken in Southern France, we clearly recognise Nice and the Sospel area.

I wanted to shared these pictures with you.

 With best regards,
