Hi, Ben -
I know you're getting ready to head west for the
holidays -
and I know that the men of the 517 will be putting you to
work out there as well! Please, everyone - Mail Call needs MAIL! I
know I've been quiet this fall (I started a new job, and then got moved, so I'm
at a new job again, even though I started in August). However, I've still
been trying to continue work on the film (stay tuned - and by all means, we will
accept donations of ANY amount! You will be credited on the film!), hoping
to organize a tour of southern France next August for your 65th anniversary
(stay tuned - I am speaking with two companies), and of course The Thunderbolt
(stay tuned. I spoke with Helen, and she was going to see when they were
mailed!).
Most important now: Reunion Season is upon
us!!! Kissimmee in January, Palm Springs in April, and Salt Lake in
July!
Please, PLEASE make your Kissimmee reservations today! I just
did it - and you don't get charged until you LEAVE the
hotel! BUT - we need to register with Leila and
the hotel! Please do it now. Yes, now.
It
is an honor to work with the men of the 517, and all of their families. We
love the reuions, and love having three in front of us. At a time when
many other WWII units have disbanded, the 517 is stronger than ever. This
is because of you - each and every one of you. Don't think that you're
doing nothing because you're just reading this email - you are a crucial part of
preserving the history of this fine unit.
Share it - forward it -
tell the story - register for the reunion in Kissimmee - support the 517 in any
way you can.
Ben - have a safe trip out to Tahoe. Love to you and
Fran -

It's from
a Texas Tech Univ basketball game on 2/09/08. The
National Anthem sung
by 5 young girls in the fourth grade! What
a great job. The
entire arena remains completely silent throughout
he entire
song...you could hear a pin drop. The harmony is
AMAZING!! I hope
you enjoy it because it will give you goose
bumps!
