After reading the email from Cecil Doty, I remembered a memoir from Nacho (Vasquez) around Christmas, 1944.

"We had mail call that day.  Mail call, especially so near to Christmas, raised my spirits.  I laughed, though, as I read the card I received from my family.  'Hope you're having a good time, we are!'

Nacho told me one time, that since he didn't smoke, he traded for LOTS of chocolate.

Merry Christmas to Everyone

World War WII Song

WHEN ALL THE LIGHTS GO ON AGAIN (ALL OVER THE WORLD)
(Eddie Seller / Sol Marcus / Bennie Benjamin)
Bing Crosby

When the lights go on again all over the world
And the boys are home again all over the world
And rain or snow is all that may fall from the skies above
A kiss won't mean "goodbye" but "Hello to love"
When the lights go on again all over the world
And the ships will sail again all over the world
Then we'll have time for things like wedding rings and free hearts will sing
When the lights go on again all over the world (2x)
