Maria GASPAR, Irma and Arnold TARGNION

Best wishes for a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR ! We think of you with a deep affection and from the bottom of our hearts we want to express our gratitude. Every year during this period we remember the sacrifices of those young men who came from America to liberate us from the ennemy. They fought, suffered and some of them died during a so hard winter and people of Ardenne will never forget those great soldiers. On Christmas day, the Holy Mass will be celebrated in St Jacques Church in the evening with prayers for all the victims. On Saturday jan 3d, our annual ceremonies will take place in St Jacques, Wanne, Logbiermé, Spineux and Rochelinval. The Mayor and local authorities will pay homage at the US monuments. You will be in our thoughts and we wish you a "BONNE ANNEE" 2009; God Bless you, God Bless America. Love from Trois-Ponts. Maria GASPAR, Irma and Arnold TARGNION and the members of CADUSA (US Airborne Reception Committee) Trois-Ponts

Ken Meise

Hi, my father Edward Meise who was in the 517th Company C, is on his last legs. He is in the Lyons V.A. community center in NJ near Bedminster. He is in end stage Heart Disease and they highly suspect advanced Prostate Cancer. He is in NO pain but very weak. They seem to have him stabilized for now but his vision is going and his hearing despite a hearing aid. He says he is getting weaker and weaker each day but they are giving him Beta Blocker amongst the other pills. He is 85 today Dec 22 2008. He always enjoyed the army before he got wounded in the arm and said those were the best days of his life.  He said he wishes to die and is waiting. He does seem stabilized like I said for now despite and the Dr's said they cannot predict the end but say a year at the very most or it could happen anytime. To be honest, he was so bad a month ago that I did not think he would make it to now. He can talk but even going a few steps wears him out. That's the latest.

Hi Ben...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.....Question>>>>>what happened to :F: Co>......not on roster.........or am I blind.......Boyd Ellis
Steve Markle
In reviewing this, not only F Company was left out, but C Company as well.

I am suspecting that the book that I scanned either had a page that was torn out and the opposing page fell out, or the pages were never there at all.

In either case.... I provide only a profound apology to those men from both of these Companies for this oversight, and now provide a revised PDF, temporarily using the images from the web version (until I can do an original scan to get a better copy) to make this document complete.

The Paratrooper's Prayer
Chaplain Terry Austin, Advanced Airborne School, Fort Bragg

Heavenly Father, hear my call; for through the sky I will soon fall. Stand up, hook up, shuffle to the door, I pray for your will, nothing less, nothing more. One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four . . . My canopy fill 'fore I count any more. Give me courage, in the midst of my fear, to enjoy your world's beauty from way up here. From jumpers and obstacles float me clear, and safely to the drop zone help me steer. Feet and knees together, preparing myself to land, never more aware that I'm secure within your hand. Guide and help me, as I quickly get to my feet, to conquer every obstacle 'til the mission is complete. In our Lord's name I shall forever pray, because I'm Airborne and Prayerborne all the way. AMEN
