Hello,

This incomplete Mail Call is a  continuation of previous  Mail Call 1774. Computer hit send key  when I wanted it to send later. It may  be obvious that I am still in California and if this Mail Call is confusing it is. I will try to get matters correct next week. Just returned from Palm Springs reunion and will have information about that very successful reunion later. Hi Lee

Andy Hill

Gilles,

Thanks for your e-mail.  And, yes, you’re right…I’m lacking a lot of information about the photos.  My grandfather didn’t talk about the war much and, when he did, he mostly made up outrageous stories that he thought I would think were funny.  In fact, it wasn’t until years after his death that I saw these photos for the first time.  My grandmother has some guesses as to who some of the people are and where some of them were taken but, for the most part, they are just guesses.  I would love any help you (or anyone else) could give me with these.

 Thank you,

Andy Hill

 Gilles,

I have copied Andy Hill with this message, so that you can contact him directly.

Could you copy Ben and me on your info about the photos?  I would also like to keep the info updated on the website.

Ben is at the Palm Springs reunion right now, so we may not hear from him for a few days.

 Thanks,

 Bob Barrett

 Dear Ben,

I hope you are doing fine and am most happy to learn you will be in Southern France this summer!

Its with great interest that I went thru the 200 photos and clippings sent in by Andy Hill about his Granddad Harry A. Hill, B Company.

I just noticed that Andy is missing a lot of info about locations and various info about his granddad's papers and time with the 517th.

Ben, if you let me have Andy's email address of simply forward him this message I can help/supply Andy with a lot of info on the whereabouts and the locations when/where the photos were taken.

Andy, if you read this message, get in touch, I might not be able to give the exact locations of the pictures but will be able to tell you exactly in which campaign/country they were taken and will give accurate info about the dates the photos were taken.

Just happy to help.

 With kind regards, Gilles
