Ben:  Some recommendations for Ogniewski school trip:

1.  You may wish tell Ogniewski to advise the teacher to access your
tremendous web site archives with recommended select topics that
describe the 517th, who you are; what you accomplished at what
sacrifice and your organization.

2.  Since they are going to be in the DC area they and may wish to go
to the Manassas, VA Airport Museum to see the artifacts the 517th left
there a couple of years ago.  A side trip would be to the nearby
Manasass Civil War Battle Field and then down Hwy 66 to Rt. 28 to  see
the outstanding  new Smithsonian Air and  Space Museum near  the Dulles
Airport.  The static aircraft, helicopters, and space shuttle are all
under one roof.  All of these sites are within a reasonable travel
distance from DC.  Not a commue hours of course.

3.  You may have Oniewski access your file of a copy of the  the
President Bush Proclamation citing the accomplishments of the 517th
that I took to the Savannah Convention.  I gave Gene Frice the original
for your archives.

4.  Access the the Vice President speech and photo's from the Virginia
Convention in 2007 from your archives.

5.  I would recommend referencing your French connections that are
still intact.

If you need some help maybe I can offer to structure a 517th
Educational predetermined  list of topics with your help for kids to
access from you web site that provides a synopsis of the 517th.  The
Frice CD and the pending film project could be part of that educational
reference on your web sit.  In turn, it would provide a link to the
517th and other airborne sits for  research by students like these.

Hello Ben, it has been a long time since I heard this song. I wonder how many men signed up after they heard this and saw the movie with John Wayne?
