Please relay the Curtis family's deepest sympathies to Mrs. Babbie Boyle,
and all members of Colonel Boyle's family. My Dad was Colonel Boyle's
communications man in HQ, lst Battalion in combat. It was mine and my
brother's honor to meet for the first time Colonel Boyle at the
Washington, D.C. Reunion in 2007. Our father had told us the stories of
"Wild Bill" and the deep respect he had for this great military
leader. Even though we didn't know Colonel Boyle, we did through our
father. It was such an honor to finally meet Colonel Boyle in D.C. I
will always remember his kindness toward me and my brother as we asked him all
kinds of questions about the 517th and the many battles they were in. He
was truly, a great man and will be deeply missed. I just can't happen
to think that Colonel Boyle, Major Fraser, my Dad, and others of the 517th
aren't talking about their "Good Old Days" right now on the other side of
the vale of life. GOD Bless Colonel Boyle and his family and all 517th
troopers. I have attached a picture of Colonel Boyle, Major Fraser and Bud
Curtis at the 2007 reunion in D.C.
Our Warmest Regards and Respect to the Boyle Family,
Lory Curtis and Family

As the
great General George Patten once said, We should not be to bereaved about this

It is with
sadness that I have learned of the death of another great soldier. He
accomplished, by age 30, something far more important than any of us could hope
to do in a lifetime. I met Colonel Boyle in Savannah and was surprised how much
he remembered about my father Joe Broudy his A company
C.O.
May he rest in
peace and may his family be comforted by memories of him.
