Ben,  It was a delight to see Woody Woodhull's grave decorated with those colorful flowers.  Roland we appreciate what you are doing--something we can't do ourselves.  God bless,  Howard Hensleigh

Hello Ben,

Merry Christmas to you and all the 517th.

Here are some  articles of interest  about the 517th from the NY Times during and shortly after the war.

All the best,

Mike Kane

PLEASE keep me on your email list, Ben, if that is what you're asking
feedback regarding.

May the day never come when your emails aren't there, I pray.

I have an internet ministry dating back to 2000. The members are about
200, and growing daily, Praise the Lord.

My mission is for generations to understand and appreciate what
Americans - with God's help, miraculously sacrificed in WW II.

One example comes immediately to mind -- the freedom to write to you in
Christian love and extend my heart-felt thanks for all that you and your
comrades did to bring peace to this world.

May God bless and keep you and yours forever, Ben.

Gratefully, respectfully and lovingly yours,

Gina

I am in Jackson WY.  We just saw snow shoes that they said were used in WW11 in the 10th Mountain Division.  Have you ever heard of that?

Chris

Old Soldiers

Once we were young.

Once we were soldiers.

Once we were proud paratroopers.

We were invincible.

We went to battle and the invincible's died along with others .

We won the war and the survivors came home.

The  ranks have dwindled over the years .

We are growing old and will soon pass on and be  forgotten.

Memories may linger for awhile because of the 517th. Auxiliary.

However, As  General Douglas MacArthur  once said.

"Old soldiers never die; They just fade away"
