Ben: There are three stanzas: 1. " Dayis done, Gone the sun, From the
lakes, From the hills, From the sky, All is well, Safely rest, God is
nigh. 2. Fading light, Dims the sight, And a star, Gems the sky,
Gleaming bright, From afar, Drawing nigh, Falls the light. 3. Thanks and
praqise, For our days, Neath the sun, Neath the stars,Neath the sky, As
we go, This we know, God is nigh. Bob Dalrymple.

Thank your for the information. It clears up some areas from the fog of war. I would appreciate you sending the information to my home address:
Don Gentry,
3110 2nd St. SE,
East Wenatchee, WA 98802
I will check Richards discharge papers for additional details for awards etc. He does not remember getting any foreign decorations or other recognition for his time in country.
By the way, I just left a training assignment to the 311 MI Bn 101st Abn. at Ft. Campbell, KY. I did not realize that the 101st was now Heli-borne. Can't remember the term right now. Like Air Assult maybe.
I am now at the 103rd MI Bn, 3rd Inf. Div. Ft. Stewart, GA for soldier training. Will be home for Christmas for sure.
Thank you very much for your time and effort on our behalf.
Don Gentry

I have met Dr. Wheeler a couple of times and have worked with him business partner Terry Blanchard. I have the utmost respect for him. He is a truly gutsy guy. Probably would have been with you guys had he been born about 35 years earlier.

Hope you can come to one of our reunions soon.
I would love that. However, I would need to get into shape to hang out with you guys. I remember meeting with Senator Terry Sanford in his office in 1992 while lobbying to get rid of the Luxury Tax. I introduced myself to him and told him my father had served in the 517th. He took me aside and told he me was preparing for your reunion at Niagara Falls. He told me he was planning on going over the Falls in a barrel and damned if anyone could stop him. I never heard if he actually tried it but it would not surprise me.
Keep up your great work. By seeing all of the third generations looking for information on their uncles and grandfathers via your website and newsletter, you are keeping alive your band of brothers who did not make it home for future generations to know and respect.
"They will only have died in vain if we forget them."
All the best,

Ben,
These flags were displayed in Sandy Utah on September 11th, a
community just across the freeway from me. I remember seeing all of
these flags, but did not have a camera to take a picture. Now all these
months later I receive an email message from a friend who is serving as
an aviation Brigade S-3 in Korea who sent them to me today. It was nice
to get them. Perhaps some of your reader would like to see them.
