Can anyone help me find my uncle's Navy Serial number? My cousins and I have no discharge papers or anything on him as he and my aunt both died in 1969.
Was on the USS General John Pope a troop transport in the Pacific '44 and '45.
His name was Francis Bramswig

Thanks for your note regarding "Paratrooper's Odyssey" located at Barnes and Noble for $125.50 plus S&H. I just ordered a copy of the book "Battling Buzzards" and that should get me started on trying to refresh my tired memory machine. After I get through that I will try and find another copy of "Paratrooper's Odyssey" and may wish that I had purchased the one you found.
