Hello,

Just a thought!

Wouldn't it be great if every professional athlete Making over $100,000  a year and being able to  continue to do so because of the freedom he enjoys due to the sacrifice of the men and woman in our military would donate one weeks salary to a fund to help alleviate hardships endured by these  military families.

This thought ocurred to me while watching baseball games, hockey playoffs and a golf tournament on national TV  while on Fox TV we could see what real men and woman were doing  and have always done in the past for their country  in time of need to make it all possible.

Ben

"It seems (actor) Kelsey Grammer doesn't mind going against the tide in
Hollywood. He's one of a small handful of celebrities who has openly
supported President Bush.  Now he is using his television show as a vehicle
to express appreciation to those who serve in the military.

"The actor has a standing instruction to the staff of 'Frasier' that
families of military personnel or veterans who attend tapings will be seated
where they belong - in the front row. Grammer has also made it a point to
meet with guests personally."

Don,

I did get the names as included in the photo title, but you may want to
check the web site and make sure that I got them correctly labeled.

I'm sure the guys would appreciate the additional photos, especially
from Europe.  The more you can identify the unit and people the better.

I will gladly post anything you send.  The work is no problem -- I can
generally get to it within a few days.

Thanks,

Bob Barrett

Robert:
First I would like to thank you and your father for this website.
When I sent the pictures I thought the names were sent also but I'm
still getting up to speed on the computor.  Maybe if they were resized
the names would have gone through.  I will send the names tonight.
Another question.  I have many pictures of the 460th but don't know how
many you are interested in.  So far I have only sent USA training, but
will also be sending the more interesting pictures from France, Belgium,
and Berlin.  If I am overloading you with work, please let me know.
                                   Thanks again

Subj: THIS is CNN

"See if any of this sounds familiar: An oppressive dictator who's an
international pariah; a totalitarian regime with an abysmal human-rights
record; secret police who harass and imprison local journalists; and the
ubiquitous presence of CNN - cozily ensconced in the capital, blandly
repeating the government's pronouncements, while doing little to highlight
the plight of repressed citizens.

"Thinking of Iraq under Saddam Hussein? How about Fidel Castro's Cuba, the
only communist dictatorship in the Western Hemisphere. In 1997, CNN became
the first U.S.-based news organization with a fulltime news bureau in Cuba
in nearly 30 years. . . . Given the awfulness of the secrets we now know CNN
was hiding for Saddam, it's fair to ask whether CNN is doing the same for
Fidel."

I thought some of the guys might enjoy reading what a great lady Ann Margaret is as compared to Jane Fonda.  I don't know the origin of this story but it sounds true to me.  Anyway, it is worth reading.......Dot Lubic

Subj: Our French Friends

I know its popular to bad-mouth the French now-a-days, but the 517th always has French friends who have been devoted and loyal to our regiment.  I for one would like to speak up and tell them they are still and always will be friends.  Likewise I hope our countrys will always be friends.   France is an independant country that has the right to make their own decisions. Friends are equals. They have just as much right to disagree with us as we have to disagree with them.
