It's been a very quiet week for mail and news and that is the only reason why we haven't sent out Mail Call more often. We would like to hear from you.
, If you can crawl, you should make arrangments to come to the June reunion Some may not be able to do so for the next reunion if there is one.

Hi Ben, I haven't received any emails from mail call . I was having some problems with my server, because of so much junk mail, and so I now have a spam protection, and I wonder if that has blocked my mail call emails... If you would please put me on the list to receive I will make sure that it doesn't get blocked.. Thank You Becky Martinette saltaire@pinn.net ************* Others have had a similiar problem when they tried to prevent spam. I also would like to eliminate spam but can't take the chance from preventing legitimate mail from reaching me-Ben ___________________________________________________________________________ Entry of Apr 23, 2003 at 11:56 [EST] Name: Paige Christman Unit: EMail: paigech@aol.com How I found the 517th page: Other Comments: I am the granddaughter of Robert R. Hello Paige,
Thanks for signing our guestbook and for your kind comments.
Please tell your grandfather that all his 517 buddies would like to have him come to our reunion June 2 in Oklahoma City. Perhaps you and Patrick could come along with him.
Best Wishes,

I'll see what I can do! Maybe between Pat and myself we can get him to go. Keep your fingers crossed!

Short History ________________________________________________________________________ The following is from an article thet Tom Cross wrote for the Static Line in 1987
"The December issue of the STATIC LINE carried an interesting listing in the Airborne Walk Contribution Section as follows: "In memory of the 2nd Battalion Cooks KIA in Southern France 1944, 517th RCT". The contributor was Al Herink )Hq2 ) who was one of the "combat" cooks. This brought forward some honest and respectful tears as it did to others that remembered these brave men that jimped into S. France on D-Day as ammo bearers with full load of Mortar and MG ammo. Thanks Al, for reminding us of this important part of our past history."
