Dear Ben:
Here are some things we should be thinking about as we assemble in OKC for the reunion. We do not exclude those who can’t make it. You are called on to contribute your thoughts on these issues also.
1. Future Reunions. As time rolls on, two factors influence this: a. our physical ability to get there, and b. Finding members who are able and willing to shoulder the job of organizing the reunion, as Jesse and Lou Darden have done for this one.
a. We have two locations that have invited us for the 2005 Reunion: Fayetteville, NC and Branson, MO. Both are attractive spots. Branson has country music and the Ozarks; Fayetteville has Ft. Bragg, what is left of Camp Mackall, the Sand Hills and they advertise Kitty Hawk on the Outer Banks (some distance away)where the Wright brothers introduced the flying machine.
Should we settle on one place for all future reunions?
b. Should we hire professionals to organize our next reunions? This would lighten the load at a price.
2. The Future of the Association. Second and third generations have evidenced an interest in continuing the Association into the future when present members are no longer able to do that. What plans do we need to make for that?

Dear Ben,
What a distinguished list of attendees for this year's reunion! I am very eagerly awaiting the opportunity to meet and visit with the fine family of the 517th.
I am thinking of all that has been sacrificed by yourselves and others to provide for us all, this fine and free, Memorial Day Holiday. Many of us know and remember that freedom isn't "free" and we thank all of you great troopers for our blessings.
Hoping you all have a great holiday and I will see you in OK City.
Best regards,
Tom Reber
