Dear Ben,
Thank you for your prompt reply, very nice to hear from you again. Many thanks for the answers to our questions ,they helped our research a little more. Which is always a bonus.
You say that you were not a hero. But you guys won the freedoms that we all now enjoy. Some of us are gratefull to you guys for that fact. What we do, is centered on keeping that fact alive and in the publics eye.
That is also the reason for our request for the photo.of you in uniform. Please do send it along to us. W would be very gratefull.
Can we ask you a few more questions, please.
Our very best Airborne regards,
Colin and Ian Dewey

Bill Mauldin's cartoon is much like my expierence when Merle informed me at the reunion that I would be sitting at the head table after Cecil Doty and Bob Barnes had went to the bother of reserving a seat for me at "H" Co. table-Ben

Dad,
Just a quick note on some website updates.
I received a lot of photos and documents at the reunion, and several more via email since then. I intend to get to it all as soon as I can, but ask everyone to bear with me. First I will do the photos sent in, especially those that I have promised to return to the owners. I will do the big documents last, since those take more time. Thanks to everyone for the materials. Look forward to some interesting material.
Here are a couple of things that are new on the website:
1. At the reunion, Kelly Edwards printed out the pictures of Company D from Mike Kane. She asked several troopers from Company D to help identify the photos, and we did get a lot of info. Those descriptions have been added to the Mike Kane page, which can be found on the Photos page. Thanks Kelly.
2. I have posted a small copy of the commemorative drawing supplied by the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team at the reunion. I don't know who the artist is, but the initials of the drawing are "DAN". I will load a bigger, clearer version eventually. For now, it can be found from the Table of Contents page.
3. Many people are still requesting copies of the current members roster mailing list. Wade Gilbert made paper copies available at the reunion, but we don't want to mail those to everyone. Instead, I put a copy on the web site, but it is not listed on the Table of Contents, since I do not want this personal info to be available to outsiders. It is only available to people who receive MailCall and know where to look. I also put it in a format (pdf) that should prevent outsiders from stealing the names or emails. I hope everyone can open it. The location is:
http://517prct.org/documents/roster/517th_roster.pdf
As we get corrections and additions, we will update this.
I will keep you posted as I add more material to the web site.
