Hello,

We have received many inquiries about the 82nd Airborne poster and The Battle of The Bulge poster.

Clark Archer is going to try to have some copies of the 82nd Airborne poster made for me.Also details of how to get the poster is on Contents page on the website.

Our Belgian friend, Henri Rogister, a few years ago  sent me the last available posters  that were made  for the 50th anniversery of The Battle of The Bulge. I sent out the few copies that I received to those that requested them. I did not have many requests at that time. I'll  try to find out if copies can be made. The original is 2 ft by 3 ft.

Dear Ben,

I am now home. According to all observers the skin graph is holding. If the present trends continue women will be having babies as out patients but the VA will hold onto the old vets forever. Getting out of the VA hospital was like getting out of Leveanworth.

I hope to be back in the harness soon and will try to formulate some worthwhile objectives for the 517th Association for the next two years. We are trying to build a network of men in each company who will report what is presently going on in the lives of the members of those organizations as well as document the stories of their lives from 1943-1946. There is also an interest in family members and succeeding generations to keep the memory of the 517th Combat Team alive.

As the years roll by we will continue to be challenged. If the past is any guide to the future, we will meet those challenges head on.

My continued thanks to you and Bob for providing this communication link.

Airborne All the Way,

Howard Hensleigh

Dad,

I added a link to the 82nd airborne poster on the web site.  It is on the Table of Contents page.  I included info on where to order the poster, and some stories about it.

I would like to know where the poster came from.  I would love to add it to the next printing of Nacho's book.  Who would I contact for permission?

I always look forward to all the emails.
Thanks,

Ben,
You have the rank correct, at least for 21 more days.  I get
promoted to Major on August first.  I can't thank you enough for the poster.
If you send me your mailing address I will send you a few of the new Army
things that the recruiters give to interested young men and women.  And when
it comes to payment you and men like you paid more than the world will ever
know to make this country and the world what it is today.  If there is ever
anything that I can do as an active military member please don't hesitate to
ask.

I also have a 517th Patch that I picked up in France or Belgium. Except, My patch has a color orange for the fire under the Buzzard. I was told it was one of the origional but , who knows?  If anyone knows for sure what the first patches looked like, I think all of us would like to know. I know for sure that my patch is somewhat smaller than the ones Bill Lewis sold at reunions.
