I have really enjoyed recent Mail Calls that have the descendants connecting with the surviving troopers that knew their fathers and relatives.  I know exactly how these descendants feel when they make a good connection with people that served with fathers, grandfathers, etc.   It means a great deal to the descendants and I think it makes the survivors feel honored to know that another generation is discovering the proud heritage of the 517th.  I stiorngly encourage all descendants to press forward and make connections.
 
It is important for people to pass on the rich oral history of the 517th to their descendants.  I am thankful for the "Recollections" section of the website, as it will aid future generation in learning how a bunch of formerly ordinary (no disrespect intended by any means) young men trained and teamed up to become an extraodinary and cohesive unit that nearly 60 years later still gathers every 2 years to share their lives. 
 
It really is awesome.  Thanks, Ben and Bob for being there to help us make the connections; past, present and future.

Thanks for answering. I tried to print the morning report, but it was very poor. If you have a legible copy that would be great. My address is 3625 Cline Rd.  East Ridge, TN. 37412 . Yes, any documents you have would be appreciated. Fred told me they were in an engagement of some sort at Manhay I think. Oh, Layton's name is misspelled in the honor roll on one of your web sites.
