Hello,
I try to limit Mail Call to three printed pages and therefor I some times move mail from one edition to the next especially when I have one long email.

John Bramswig,
So many troopers did that Aug. 15 early A.M. jump into that fog, I guess it is a common subject with many of them. Unfortunately, I haven't gone through the entire regimental roster to determine where your inlaw, Ed Marconi was situated. I knew some from N.Y. and Brooklyn but not Ed. It is good to here from any trooper family extensions. Extensions are in far greater numbers at this time of life than there are original troopers!! I, personally, am 7 days away from my 80th birthday. Many of my fellow troopers have already made their 'last jump'. If I give it some concentration, maybe I can come up with some interesting events, though some memories are fading as to time, place etc. It's nice to hear from you and go ahead and cruise through the web site that Ben and Bob have created. Lots and lots of info that those two gentlemen have labored over. We are most grateful to their talent and willingness to create such a treasure.

After nearly doing myself in falling as I left church two weeks ago, I am back on my feet. My precious husband has been a wonderful nurse, and housekeeper.
One of our e-mail friends is Jerry Davis, and I think he would like to get on line with you. His e-mail address is: ggdavis@optusnet.com.au. Jerry was a member of G Company, 3rd Bn 517th. Jerry and Gween moved to Australia, and I am certain that he would enjoy hearing from friends and comrades.
Thank you Ben for this and all that you do for us

Hi Ben;I read Tom Reber's letter in Mail Call 534 and concur wholeheartedly. Dad spent 30 years in the army, rarely talking about his combat experience; never with me until '99, and then only briefly. He always held the 517th and the men with whom he served in the highest regard. The website has done wonders as far as my knowledge of what this unique and outstanding regimental combat team accomplished in a very short time. I think it's time we "kids" do something to honor the 517th. I would like to recruit volunteers who will work to convince the powers that be to name/rename one of the army's brigades after the 517th. Any takers? If you're interested, contact me at Landmark54@yahoo.com.
Again, thanks for all of your efforts in keeping the 517th together.Mark Landreth, son of Roy Landreth / E Company

Subject: Lost Cousin
I have reviewed the website of the 517th as a result of a recent article in our paper at Fargo, ND. I had a cousin who lived with us and like my two brothers served in WWII. He was a paratrooper who lost his life in Europe. Since all family members are deceased I am wondering if there is any way to find information on him(?) His name was Kenyon Hammerstrom of near Odeboldt, Iowa.Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.

I don't believe that he was in the 517 and can find no recored on any honor roll-Ben
