Dear Ben,
Hollis E. Green, Battery B, 460th, of Alexander, Ark., died December 18, 2003, at the age of 80. He went all the way with the 460th, was awarded the five bronze stars for his ETO ribbon, the arrowhead for the S. France invasion where he was jumpmaster, and (relevant to this time of year) fought through the Battle of the Bulge. Hollis was a retired jeweler. He will be remembered by the men of the 460th and many descendants and friends in the Little Rock area.
Here is how our airborne communications lines worked. There was a paratrooper in Hollis’ ceremonial squad who takes Static Line. He had the funeral home fax me a copy of Hollis’ obituary. Ben has passed it on to you. Lets keep these lines open. Howard Hensleigh

Dear Ben , I hasten to add my condolences to John Lisners family . I did
not know John in combat, but we became good friends over these past 23
years I have been a member of our PRCT Assn. Those years gave me a
reasonable insight into the kind of soldier and man he was : A splendid
one , indeed ! God Bless and keep his family together always . Bob and
garnet Dalrymple .

Let us pray that strenght and courage abudant be given to all who work for a world of reason and understanding. That the good that lies in every man's heart may day by day be meaningful. That men will come to see more clearly not that divides them, but that which unites them. That each hour may bring us closer to a final victory, not of nation over nation, but of man over his evils and weakness. That the true spirit of this Christmas Season may live among us. That the blessings of peace be ours the peace to build and grow, to live in harmony and sympathy with others, and to plan for the future with confidence.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!

Remember! At the fall of Manhay to the German 2nd Panzer Division on
Christmas Eve, when General ridgway turned to his Corp reserves the
517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team at Ferrieres. The call came on Christmas Day for the 3rd Battalion of the 517th together with the 7th Armored with specific orders of retaking Manhay, and to "Hold at all cost."......They did.
The rest is now history, and General ridgway no longer had to put up with demands and directives to retake Manhay.
"Today the village, fixed like a terrace
On the side of the green mountain where violent winds blow
Has forever found peace, let us hope forever.
Manhay "Cost what it may." The alarm has sounded.....and
the orders has come down-
Hold at all costs- "Tenir coute que coute."
(From the poem "Manhay" by Emile Pirard)
