Bill Boyle,
reunion list is I believe incorrect. No reunion
at
Bragg in 64. That was Raleigh. 67 was Anaheim.
70 was Colorado. Terry Sanford
was host. I am aware of this because I was denied my request
for Ft.Bragg by
Gen. Stillwell who was 18th Corps
Chief of Staff. Also it was at Colorado
that I
became President and it was at the next reunion
that we decided to
change from 3 year intervals
to 2 years because of the bicentennial
(1976)
and possible conflicts. Also you can see that
elections coincide
with election of
officers,

Dear Ben--We sold 42 T-Shirts at the Kissemmee Reunion We netted $168.00 for the Assn. A check for an extra two shirts is in the way to Bob.
Gene Frice had suggested that I look into making shirts for the Europe trip. But if some one else can do them for less than $6.00 cost to the Assn. then Go for it.

Ben,In relation to Gene Brissey's message about recent
Thunderbolt,Gen.Dick Seitz didn't leave anyone hanging,it was I,the Editor. I

After enlisting in the 82nd Airborne Division, I eagerly asked my Recruiter
what I could expect from jump school.
"Well," he said, "its three weeks
long."
"What else," I asked.
"The first week they separate the men from
the boys," he said. "The second week, they separate the men from the fools."
"And the third week?" I asked.
"The third week, the fools jump."
Tom Cross,
Ben:
I
suggest we consult with our 517th PRCT Historian about Howard Hensleigh's
comments regarding French Paratroopers jumping with us in OPERATION DRAGOON and
the use of crickets for Identification purposes. I do not recall any of these
being present in the 2nd Battalion on D-Day. Perhaps Dick Seitz or Clark Archer
could comment.
We did have a small contingent
from the USAAF jump with one of our outfits. I believe it was a L t. Col. USAAF
who was the husband of a Hollywood notable-perhaps Jinx Van Falkenberg or
something like that. He was acompanied by several men who were identified as
USAAF PIO types. I believe they had some relationship with the 1st Airborne Task
Force and/ or the supporting Troop Carrier Forces. I feel certain that the
cricket devices lost thier value after their use in the Normandy Operation. This
is certain to raise some form of debate from among our gang. Kees the juices
flowing.
Regards, Tom Cross

Alan,
I am making the change right now. That is a simple change,
and no problem
at all.
Thanks for the correction.

Dear
Webmaster,
You have done a laudable job on this website and my wife
and I treasure it.
I did want to make one correction, however, to the
photo/roseberry.htm page.
1st LT. Roseberry is the second from the left in
the first photo.
I apologize in advance is this causes you much time, but
I am certain that
accuracy is critical. Lt. Roseberry was my wife's
father and he lived with
us for a time shortly before he
died.
