Ben, Just a note to let you all know that Jesse will
be having triple by-pass surgery on Wednesday, April
14. He had been having problems but thought it was
all an asthma attach. But the allergy Dr. heard a
heart murmur & ask us to see the cardiologist.
Needless to say we were stunned. They were not able
to do the surgery this week because he is still taking
med for a sinus infection. Please keep us in your
prayers. I will report as soon as possible.
We will be in OKC for the surg & not sure I will be
able to access a computer. Thanks for all the

      I confirm to you there will be some ceremonies in Le Muy during 3 days to comemorate the 60° Anniversary of the Liberation.
      By example: Jumping with parachute (we are in discussion with the para-jumpeer to autorise that some vétérans can be jump...)
                        Cérémonie at the américan Cimetery in Draguignan.
                        Concentration and parade with jeeps, Dodges, Gmc etc.. and soldier with uniforms of WW2.
                        Officials Cérémonies with the Mayor, représentant of the french Army, and Vétérans U.S. & G.B.
                        From the 14 to the 17 August re-eanct of a U.S. Military Camp
with vehicules and people in uniform.
                        One night with fireworks and Américan Music .... Etc...
                        And don't forget visit of the Museum in Le Muy !!!...

                  This Célébration are organised for you father and all of his friends, for don't forget.

            If you want to comme in South of France this Summer, you should réserve now a bedroom in an Hotel. I give you the adress of one Hotel near Le Muy where there are still some rooms.

Hi, Ben hope all is well with all of you. My Mom and Dad are both doing
well. The Family is looking forward to spending time with both of them
this Christmas for my Dad's 88th Birthday. Funny I was reading the e-mail
this Mr. Gene Frice wrote about going to France for the 60th Anniversary.
August 15th 1944, I was born. As my Mom tells me it was about the time
my Dad was jumping out of the plane in France. Ever since I have become
involved with taking my folks to the reunions and meeting all of the
troopers and family, I find that August 15is not as important as my
birthday but it is important as an anniversary becuse of the freedom that
I have here in the USA. Too many people forget June 6 and August 15. I
will close for now, but I send my regards to all the troopers and to my
special one ...Beaver Carrillo..my Dad.

How I found the 517th page: unknown
Comments: I am posting this for my father. He was in Company D for about 1 month, wounded in Belgium in January 1945, and reassigned to Company E when he left the hospital on March 10, 1945. Stayed with Company E until August 1945. If you served with him, please feel to contact Edward at the listed email address. Thanks for all you did.

My dad was in the 517 co B during WW2. He is a really, really, really, slow typist and I couldn't set here all night waiting for him to do this, so I am for him.
