Theresa Pugh

I am Ann (and Charley) Pugh's daughter. I did not know that Joe was ill.
Please keep us posted.

If you sent a note to Ann, I am sorry the she and I did not get it. I will
let her know that you wrote. Please keep us informed. Mom is very fond of
all of you--and especially Joe.

In fact, I wish that she would meet up with you all at the next reunion.
Her vision is not too terrific so it is hard for her to travel to various
events alone. But, with enough notice, we can make it happen.

Her phone number is 703 998 7573 and she has unlimited long distance dialing
so please give her a call and ask her to call you back. Let the phone ring
at least 5 rings.

I assume that you know that she moved to Washington DC area a year ago. We
live only 5 miles from the White House so please let us know if you are in
the area. We'd love to see you. (I wish there would be a reunion here).

Her address is

2313 North Tracy Street
Alexandria VA 22311

Thanks,

Theresa Pugh

My Dad was in G Company, 4th platoon, doing well there in Nashville.
I am a Reserve Army Lieutenant Colonel, mobilized for a year, sweating it
out here in Baghdad.  Things are getting rough, not as bad as my Dad told
me, many times over, about Bastogne and Joingy.

Best regards,

The MailCall archives that I keep online will be there for a very long time, probably forever.  And I will always keep a copy as backup.  So there is no need to save your old emails anymore.

And did you know that on the website you can search the MailCalls?  If you are looking for a reference to a particular person, place, or event, the "Site Search" function can be used and will locate each MailCall or other page which contains that reference.

Thanks for all your help on recovering the old MailCalls.  I know that took a lot of work on your part.

Andrew Wilson

Dear Sir:

My name is SSG Andrew Wilson and I am currently stationed with C Co. 1/507th PIR at Ft. Benning, Ga.  Our former company commander, CPT Dennis Terry, has given me and SSG James Holliday the honor of designing and constructing a series of memorial display cases to be used as a home for the Battling Buzzards of the 517th PRCT.

This is an amazing honor for both of us.  We feel an obligation to the men of the 517th to give them a place where their accomplishments and sacrifices can be told, and their stories of valor can become ingrained in the hearts and minds of all who pass into the hallowed ranks of the United States Paratroopers.  We are putting these cases in their own area of C Co. where they can be seen by the approximately 5000 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines that are trained in this company alone yearly.

We ask only that if any you have memorabilia that you would be willing to donate to this project, please feel free to contact us at: WilsonAS@benning.army.mil.  Any items that we are unable to place in these cases will be displayed in the Airborne Museum at the base of the Controlled Descent Training Tower here at the U.S. Army Airborne School.  If you do not wish to have your extra items displayed there, we will gladly send them back to you.

The history of the U.S. Paratrooper is one of great achievements and great sacrifice, this is due to the fact that uncommon valor was common among men of your caliber.  The paratroopers of today are better trained because of the lessons learned from the experiences you faced, and because of this, the Airborne community owes you all a debt of gratitude. "HUNTERS FROM THE SKY"

Respectfully, SSG Andrew S. WilsonC Co. 1/507th PIRFt. Benning, Ga.(706) 545-311

Comments: Gentlemen, we here at C Co. are putting together several display cases that will be used as a permanent home for the 517th. We are doing this in tribute to the many achievements and sacrifices made by this incredible unit. We have already been in contact with a few of your members, but would like to hear from anyone else that may have stories, photos, or memorabilia that would be willing to donate to this project. We are going to have a display case for each of the battalions as well as one for the engineers and field artillery. Any items or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
