Hello,
I am sending this Mail Call  out now so that all can know about the serious
illness of Dr. Charley Pugh and  so that you can offer him your prayers.

Just got back from California and I an now trying to catch up on requests for
information. I try to answer all request,but at this stage of the game not
always sure if I answered the door bell.
I want to thank Dot and Cathy for the good job they did taken care of Mail
Call for me.

Welcome back. Hope you had a very pleasant trip. Cathy and Dot did a fine
job. They urged us to help those who are looking for info about fathers,
grand fathers and others. I have become involved in at least five such
ventures and it has resulted in some interesting and successfull outcomes.
There is so much to learn and so little time in some cases. Another thing, in
my observation we who attend reunions too often break off in small groups and
have a great time in doing so. However, it might be interesting to share our
thoughts and memories with some whom we have never met. I plan to engage
everyone at the reunion in exchange of names if nothing else. It was
impossible to meet many fellow troopers way back then, why not try it now.
I'm really looking forward to the reunion and am sorry to hear that there is
a rather low number registered. Does anyone have an idea as to how to help
shake up Bismarck with a real big bunch of five seven teeners.

I just got a note from Ann Pugh . Charley needs our prayers. In addition to
losing the sight in his one good eye he has suffered renal failure and is on
dialysis . In spite of his vission loss he got the issue of Wings out. This
is the 596 news letter he has been producing for years and sends to some of
the rest of the team. You may not know that Charley injured his eye in
Soisson and didn't go to sick leave so that he would miss the call up to the
bulge  hence lost his sight in that eye . He successfully  got through dental
school and has practiced until a month or so ago when he suffered macular
degeneration in the good eye. He has since been coping with the help of th
V.A. and some of the special equipment made for the problem . Anyway think
good thoughts and pray for him.  Ann wants you to know the renal failure was
due to an adverse reaction to a drug called Baycol a substitute for Lipitor
so be careful and double check with your Doctor. She also said no Floweres

I have some sad news to report.  Bob Dalrymple called me last night and said
Dr. Charley Pugh is in ICU.  His kidneys shut down as a result of side
effects from a drug he was taking for cholesterol.  He is on dialysis.  He
was down town when he passed out and his wife called 911.

Cards and prayers would be very much appreciated.
