Dear Gentlemen,
I am the daughter of Ian Cowan who served in
Co. B. I am trying to locate an email or snail mail address for Edmund
"Dog" Jordon. He and Daddy were good friends. My mother send Dog a
photo of the two of them and a modified machine gun. I would very much
like to have a copy of that photo if at all possible. Apparently the two
of them modified one of ours to out gun one of the German "burp"
guns. I do know Dog was very pleased to receive the picture. I will
be submitting some of the pictures I received in my father's possession
soon. I am enjoying the site very much. I wanted to let you know of
an upcoming reunion at Camp Toccoa in October. It will be the 61st.
There will be a reenactment and parachute drops.. We went with Daddy at
the 50th and then again last year. They do a very nice job. If anyone
would like details, here is the website you can go to : www.toccoagachamber.com . I met
Dog at the 50th. Once again, if anyone would share his address or forward
this message I would be very appreciative.
Warm regards and deepest Respect,
Heather Cowan Riley

Hello Ben, Richard (Bayslinger ) was in B Company. He doesn't remember
where it was taken. Maybe someone out there has a picture with the same
backdrop.
Richard was with Ledlie Pace when he was killed by artillery and was
himself hit by rifle fire just hours later which put him out of action before
Christmas 1944. The casualty reports shows different and later dates than what
he remembers. We realize the morning report is for prior days events. Maybe
someone can shed some light on this.
Thank You Ben and Bob,
Don Gentry

Ben : If the hurricanes leave anything of
Florida we might consider it. Problem is we love winter, Norma waits from March
to Nov/Dec for the snow to cross country ski ! A much better chance to see you
at the gathering next
Summer.

Hi Ben,
Living in the Los
Angeles Area, I decided to check to see if there is a lawyer in Hollywood by the
name of Jack Dunaway. I found a listing for a criminal lawyer in the
middle of Hollywood. Don't know if this is the 517th Dunaway discussed in
mail call, but if someone from the 517th wants to contact him to find out, here
is his business listing:
Criminal Attorney at Law
Dunaway, Jack G.
6255 Sunset Blvd
LOS ANGELES, CA 90028

Dear Ben--All this talk about Jack Dunaway...I also thought he died
our in Palm Springs...like a heart attack or something. I remember I was
quite sad at the time because he was such a delightful chap that I met at the
minis there.
I am battening down the hatches in anticipation of Frances arrival
some WEEK soon--LOL. I live in a mobile home 2 blocks off the Gulf
with my 2 small dogs. I am a 1st responder to my job--the mental
health wing of Bay Medical in Panama City--so have to be alert to that
too. What a life if you don't weaken!!!
Keep up the good work, Ben.

Fantastic pictures. Sure glad the house wasn't damaged. The
poor turkeys and chickens look pitiful as does the grapefruit tree.
Glad to know the Polks made it through........Dot and Andy Lubic

Dear Ben:
Please tell Mr. Polk we are so glad he came through
the storm safely. Remembering what it was like after Hurricane Andrew
he is very much in our prayers (the clean up, lack of power, water, housing,
plus downed lines and trees and heat are depressing and last a long time). We
are also praying that Hurricane Frances doesn't compound the devastation from
Charley. As I write, it is starting to come ashore in the Palm Beach and
north area. It is a big one and moving very slowly so it will cause a lot
of flooding. As my husband reminds us, Mother Nature is going to get you
be it earthquakes, tornados or hurricanes.
