Hello,
Just hit wrong key and lost some info.
Check out the Dropzone website on paratrooper links. Click on Community and
you will see the 517th decal displayed which is a link to our website.
I will send this Mail Call out now so that you will have information about
the operation Roy Herren is having tomorrow and you can keep in your prayers.

Hi,

I am Allan Johnson's daughter, Claire Giblin.

Just got an e-mail advising that this e-mail has a daily (or every other day
or so) mail call that will apprise us of Charley's status.  If you'd add this
address to the list, Dad would appreciate it.

We are so sorry to hear that Charley isn't well and will keep him in our
thoughts and prayers.

Thank you -

Hey Ben  maybe you should put this in mail call,  The best way to beat
the high airfare to Bismark is to get a fare with a saturday night
stay??? They go down to around $200.00 and change.  Tom McAvoy

I read Dot's e-mail about airlines into Bismarck.  In addition to Northwest,
United comes in here by way of Denver.

In regard to reunion sites, the biggest problem with reunions is finding
someone who is willing to sponsor and handle all the arrangements required to
stage such an event.  A yearly reunion was discussed years ago and the idea
discarded in favor of mini-reunions.

As the years go on there will continue to be fewer and fewer attending
because of ill health or death.  Charley Pugh was the first one to register
for the Bismarck reunion and his passing indicates how uncertain things can
be.

I am waiting for someone to come forward and indicate they would like to
sponsor a reunion and have it considered at the May 2001 reunion.

I must repeat Tom Cross' regrets over the news on Charlie
Pugh. I would add that we pray especially for his wife and
family too.

That is the cheapest airfare even with the extra hotel and food.  I've
already priced it that way and that is the way we will go..........Fly in on
Monday and leave on Sunday.  Even flying in on Monday is cheaper that flying
to reunion on Sunday.....Maybe you could tell people in Mail Call about
checking all the days for those who haven't gotten airline tickets
yet.........Dot

Ben,
We see you got back safely from CA. It is so sad to hear of Charlie Pugh We
had such a nice meeting with him at the Florida mini and he was so enthused
about the 517th. When we heard he was sick we sent a get well card to him
only to find he will not get well. Now we will have to follow up with a
sympathy card.
About Bismarck, did I tell you by staying over Sat. night I cut our fare with
Northwest in half? We even save by staying the extra night at the motel. We
get the senior rate but I think from what the gal from Northwest told me that
anyone would save. Lucky I talked to a reservation gal who suggested this to
me.
Enjoy your letters, keep up the good work. See you in Bismarck. (hopefully).

This is a removal of Atherosclerotic Plaque from the inner wall of an
artery by operation on ether side of the neck My problem is on the left side
of my neck. They have to clamp it off and that could cause a 5% chance of a
stroke. as it shuts off the blood to the brain on that side.
I am having it done Friday at the Manatee Hospital, Bradenton, FL.
It is short notice to us as it is 95%+blocked Am I nervous--You bet I, AM.
Wish me luck. Neurosurgeon is Dr. TIESI  from Bradenton

Hi Folks--Just a quick note. There seems to a lot of HOAX's going around,
some of them are very malisious, but most only want to generate e-mail
address'. two that are now circulating are 1) The 5 cent postage threat from
the U.S.Post.Office The other 2) Brazilian Rain Forest, this sounds loke a
great idea nd I started to do all that was asked--but it sounded too much so
I did some checking--first there was no e-mail address to send the results
to, it is a phoney and second i looked in the Hoax web site and was told it
wasn't legit. you might check these others ou at
mailto:brain@headinjury.com

or just type in hoax on the top line  Bests carlos
