Hi, Ben -
Just wanted to let you know that Dad's cardiac cath went well today and he
is the proud owner of two new stents. He should come home to my place
tomorrow afternoon (Friday), and then go back to his place when he can drive
(2or 3 days - he's already bargaining with me).
I know that many of you troopers have gone down this road, and I feel that
it's truly good news to find this out and have it done.
The nurse told him she'd have never thought that he was 80, to which he
replied that he didn't often wish he were 40 years younger, but today was one of
those days (she WAS awfully cute). She wished he was 40 years younger,
too. :-)
More later, but all is well. My best to everyone.

Dear Ben,
I would like to give you a short run down of the
festivities at Camp Toccoa this past weekend. There was a gentlemen from
the 517 - Eric Anderson of H company. His son Lance painted a wonderful picture
of the Invasion of Normandy. If you get a chance, go by and see it at the
museum. He also has made a video of his father's mementoes and photos from
Camp Toccoa narrated by Mr. Anderson. Very moving. We plan to get
together again as they live very close to us. The other gentleman we met
was a descended of a soldier killed in action. Right now I can't put a
hand on his name. I will do so later. He knew about the webpage and was
very impressed with it. Also met a Mr. Charles Craton of the 506. He
brought Hitler's photo album and art books that he had "liberated" from the
Eagles Nest. It was his first reunion of any type. He is now
83. The re-enactors were unable to jump, but the Army Rangers did an
impressive display. Hope to get some pictures out to you soon.
Thank you for your nice job with my Dad's things. I will put the other
commendations on line soon. One question, how do you know the photo of Ian Cowan
and unknown soldier is in Southern France? Was that a common backdrop or
what? Just wondering. I sure hope someone recognizes the other
soldier. Does anyone have any stories about the mascot? I remember
Daddy talking about the lion. I've seen the picture Dog posted with Daddy
in it.
Looking forward to more news.
