Hello,
I believe that many have a problem working their way to or around
the website. Most information about the 517 is there, Histories, mail,
recollections, reunion, photos and very much more can be found on the
website.

Hello
I wrote to you a few
days ago asking if you had any
more details about the battle of La Roquette.
In the
meantime, I have exchanged several Emails with
Gene
Brissey.
Could you add me to the list of people who receive
the
mail call please?
Thank you
JL

How I
found the 517th page: unknown
Comments: I live in southern France and have a
paratrooper helmet from the 517th with the name Moles written on it. Apparently
this would be the helmet of PFC MARVIN O. MOLES . If any body has any
information whatsoever about this person, please inform me! I would love to hear
from you. Jean Loup

TO: Juliana Stonis,
Some time ago, you ran some
pictures of your Dad, & there were unidentified troopers in the pictures, I
have been able to identify one for you. If you will contact me we can talk.

Ben Sorry for the delay in responding to
your call, have been very busy with some family unexpected problems. Nothing
personal but time consuming. The reunion is scheduled for April 10 -16 ,same
place in Palm Springs with the usual line-up of activities. Lud Gibbons has
agreed to be my support should any thing happen to me. I will be sending a flyer
to Bob Christi in a week or so in order to get the info in the
thunderbird. My phone number is 714 838-0613 where I have answering service if I
am not available or E -mail at bigzebra@sbcglobal.net.
Hope you and yours are ok and have a Happy
Holiday.

Ben, this is just a supposition for Lory Curtis. With the
intervening years and consequential aging eyes and memory, the only thought I
have pertaining to Lory's dad's photo of a fellow 517 trooper is the possibility
of it being Ed Easterly. Easterly was in the communication platoon .
He, bob Jones and Ray Johnson seemed to 'pal around' together. Ask your
dad (Bud) if that rings a bell with him.

Ben, We brought everything back home with us.
The
Beddows were extending their trip & did not want to be
burdened
with all the things. We have all the flags &
guidons along
with the flag poles, stands & rope the
large round crepe paper banner I
don't know what to
call it. Right now we are planning on being
in
Kissimmee and bringing all the things with us. Who
ever does the 2007
reunion will need to take all of
this with them. There is no special
place for these
flags etc. to be stored. If you have any
questions
let us know
Robert Scruggs
Ben, that would be awesome, Howard's name came up a lot and my
Mom would appreciate it.
One thing, can you send any correspondence to bette606@aol.com, I
set up a screen name for her years ago and I do screen her mail before I
tell her, shes got mail, especially in this age of spam etc. You don't
need to CC: me or anything, the account is in my name and I'll make sure
she sees it, unless she's napping. (hehehe) don't tell her I
said that....
That's funny, my Dad would have a fit if he knew what spam meant
today.
If there is any other reason to email me other then my Moms screen
name, please feel free.
Once again Ben, thank you.
Sincerely,
Robby

I put the photo on
the web site. It is probably too big to put in a mailcall, but here is a
small version.
Go to the website. Scroll down and sideways and you will get a
