Ben I found the article that Bob posted from the Wall Street Journal very interesting. I personally agree with the author and truly believe that the Marine was doing the right thing for himself and the other soldiers he was fighting with.
Personally I think that the reporters have no business what so ever being imbedded with the troopers during any type of fighting. There are some very weird people out there with some very strange thoughts and while they were taking pictures they need to remember who the people are that were defending them while they were taking pictures and movies. The last thing any solider needs to worry about during any type of battle is some reporter with a slanted view. I have been against the press being imbedded with the troops from the very beginning and I feel that some of their stories that they come up with are totally out of line.
I just had to express my thoughts on this subject.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Joe Calder: The marine story: Russ Johnson told me a story about some Captain and Sergeant who stopped someplace to get a beer or something. Left their Jeep unattended, but under their observation. MP's wrote up a DR. Russ said Col Graves returned it with this endorsement: Any Captain or Sergeant who would do this should receive at least a Bronze Star and be returned to the Zone of the Interior immediately.
The marine made a big mistake. He should have shot the cameraman.
