Gentlemen,

Happy T-Giving to all.  I thought it was time for an updated roster.  The red tab is the mailing list for the T-bolt.  All three tabs are updated with what I believe to be all of the known changes.

Regards,

Hi Ben:

I would be interested in hearing the information that Jim Mortensen has regarding the “Mule Stories”.  Bud Wyatt told me that my Dad carried his cable lines on a mule.

I also wonder if Lou Scaringi that Bob Christie said is coming to the Mini would have known my Dad, since my Dad was in the communication platoon.  Do you think so Bob??

"mules story" is now on the website.--Ben

Comments: While doing a general search on my last name, your site came up with photos of one Jimmy Ledgin. If anyone knows/knew him, please contact me directly as I would like to know if we are related as I am told "all" Ledgin's are related and he is unknown to me. Thanks. (email ledgin@ledgin.com)

Thanks Ben. I saw several photos of Jimmy Ledgin on Don Barry's photo pages, I think his name was. I have found no other info but from his looks, I think he's got to be related.

Happy holidays and thanks.

Ben:

I recently received a transcribed copy of an oral history that my uncle, PFC Erwin W. Scott Jr., made back in 2002, two years before he died.  I am in the process of retyping it to correct several errors and to add some related family information.  I plan to submit it to the 517th web site for publication when completed, hopefully by mid January.  I am wondering if anyone else is working on or attempting to collect oral (or written) histories on each member of the 517th? If so I would enjoy discussing these projects with any interested parties. Scott Atkinson, nephew, email: scotta@ICSIconsulting.com

Dear online friend, Ben Barrett.
This Saturday evening, I was surprised to spot an IM on my screen from O.E. (Orville) Downey from California.  He was in the platoon of Hq 1st, with me.  I guess he doesn't get your mailcall.  He obviously hadn't made contact.  One more name for your 'Blind copies'.  His email is
Oedondowney@aol.com.

Comments: Hi, My dad is Kenneth "Hal Higginbotham" and I am enjoying reading the couple of comments about him and the company Christmas picture of '44. Dad is doing well. I'll be happy to relay info to him. He does not like computers or Internet unfortunately. He's still sharp, honest and brave as ever. I'm VERY proud of him. Janis

Comments: My father, Hal Higginbotham, said he was part of a parachute team that did a victory jump into Berlin at end of war with all the dignitaries from countries there. Anyone had any luck researching film archives? I'll bet this item was on a reel shown in movies. Thanks. Janis
