Hello,
I guess that by the time I correct all the mistakes in the email roster, it
will be time to send out a new one,-NO WAY-It is just copying and typiny
errors. I have the correct address in my files or else you wouldn't be
getting the mail. However, just make corrections in the roster I sent out for
your own use.

Had expected to get some new online members from the Palm Springs reunion but
so far the results have been negative.
Ben

Attended the mini-reunion at Palm Springs.  Only three of us from HQ 1st
were there.
From the Machine Gun Platoon only Black Jack Fraser and my self were
there.   I plan to make the big one in May.

A few thoughts about permanent reunion site. Those of us who
attended the recent snowbird mini reunion at the Ramada Gateway had a
great time with lots of fellowship, a good atmosphere(except for the
smoke from the wildfire), lots to do in the area( Disney World, many
Restaurants, beaucoup stores of all kinds, many amusement and educational
sites, andeasy access for ground transportation). The management of the
hotel were gracious and helpful. The facilities were ideal. The only
drawback is the lack of a free shuttle supplied by the Ramada. They do
have a free shuttle to the major attractions and shopping centers. There
are two companies: Mears and Transtar who operate 8-10 passenger shuttle
van transportation to the hotel from the airport every 15-20 minutes as
long as aircraft are still landing at the airport. The cost is$27 per
person roundtrip and $15 per person one-way. I have signed a contract for
our next Florida mini next January and will receive a proposal any day
for our biannual reunion in May of 2003. Bob

There was an article in U.S.A.Today newspaper about the man receiveing
the Bronze Star 56 years late.  exact date I am not sure but I did see
it. Tom McAvoy   Also whom ever sugested  the 517 look into permanent
reunions at Vegas or Reno, I am voteing for that,  Most details would be
taken care of by the casino staff.  As a matter of fact I am going to
vegas  April 20th  and will check out my contacts  to see what kind of a
rate we could get  and  what kind of help from the casino staff.  I will
report to Ben on or about April 24 or 25,01 just for what it is worth,

Good Morning Ben: Thank you for all the mail calls. I have received all the
mail calls to #82, but the address on the roster is incorrect. Being a
computer illiterate, I'll leave you figure it out. The roster has my E-Mail
address as"oldgrundsow@gateway .com"  By the way Ben, here is a trvia
question- What is a "grundsow" Answer : it is a "Pennsylvania dutch" name for
groundhog. THANKS AGAIN Ben for all that you are doing for the 517th.  Ray R.
Hess

Had an old address. Have correct address in my email files.

Hey Ben You forgot to give me your take on how many might be interested
to go to Vegas. I know alot depends on the rate, and I think it is a crap
shoot  to say how many of us will be here to go,  So I think I will start
with 400  souls maybe. Tom McAvoy

LOL - yes, please keep sending - I will compile and give to Dad on a bulk
basis.

Thank you -
Claire

Claire is the daughter of Allan Johnson 596. I was concerned when I saw that
some past "Mail Calls" were not being read.
