Subject: MAIL CALL NO.837 517TH PRCT--JANUARY 28, 2005
Hello,

I just got back from the Kissimmee reunion and I am trying to catch up on the mail especially the obituaries that were sent a few days ago.

Bob and Mildred Christie as usual had a great reunion as I am sure others will attest to that fact in future Mail Calls. We had close to the usual turnout but missed those that did not attend. My son Jeff was there with his friend Olin Smith who is interested in World War 11 history and wanted to meet some veterans. I think he came to the right place and  I think both he and Jeff had a good time.

I want to emphasize a few items.

Any one interested in the 517 PRCT can be placed on my Mail Call roster or be taken off it but you must let me know your intentions.  Still three strikes and you are out-undeliverable mail.
You can always read back Mail Calls by clicking on www.517prct.org/archives.
The link is near the top of nearly every Mail Call.

The other important link which is on the Contents page of the website is Search this site. Just print a name or place and you can find any information that we ever had about that person or place on Mail Call or the website. A child can do it even if an adult may have a problem

Ben:

My father, Charles E. Wallace passed away 21 January 2005 in Nashville Tennessee. I wish to publish the follwing in the 517th Mail Call:

______________________________

My father, Charles E. (Chuck) Wallace, died 21 January. His service with G Company, 517th PRCT was a source of great pride for him through the years; he cherished fond memories of his fellow troopers, some of whom he was pleased to see at the Nashville reunion. It meant a great deal to him.
_______________________________

I know he especially enjoyed seeing Ellsworth Harger, Whisenhunt and spoke of Mike Spasso. I am sure that his thoughts were with so many of you fellow 517th paratroopers.

Respectfully,

Colonel Stevenson MacG. Wallace

Dear Mr. Barret,

Thank you so much for your e-mail.  I just received "The Battling Buzzards" last week and was thrilled to read about my father.  I look forward to hearing from other members of the 517th and appreciate your kindness in forwarding me the pages regarding my father.   From what I have read in the book the entire 517th was an heroic group.

Sincerely,

Ellen Terrell-Smith

Dear 517th members, families and friends: Alan and I thought this was something to share in the event you had not yet seen it.  It is a vivid reminder of our troops now who follow in the footsteps of those who went before them in service to our country and world.
Sincerely, Pat Seitz and Alan Greer
