Ben
Just read the letter from your son Bob to you regarding the Web site
fee. I sure hope you guys aren't paying for this out of your pocket.
Without a doubt this should come out of the 517 kitty. The Web, Mail Call
and the Thunderbolt is what keeps all of us together. Long after most
of us are gone the families will have something to look at.
If the $135 fee does not come out of the 517 kitty let me know and I will
be privileged to pay the fee. Hell I got much more then $135 just learning
about what I did in the Big War. I have a selective memory, I put the war
out of my mind until 1986 when I found out about our group and I have been
trying to catch up ever since.
Best regards,
Darrell Egner

Bob Christie has already sent us a check from the kitty.-Ben

should get
the site renewed for 9 years. It is a great site, and
a
formidable research tool. It is unfortunate that
other US units don't have
similar sites.

Jesse and Lou Darden
HELLO TO ALL, What a wonderful time we had in
Kissimmee. Bob &
Mildred are real wonders. I want to
thank Jim Royer for including Jesse
& Me in his thank
yous on the reunion. All Jesse & I did was
show up
and as usual tried to help where needed. It was
wonderful to
see so many friends that we had made at
other get-together and to be able to
make new friends.
That is one of the things that make this group
unique.
They are still searching for the members that have
never been to a
reunion before. Jim talked about his
wife's great snack mix, but he did
not mention the
beautiful quilt she had made to give to be used as a
door
prize at the banquet. One of the new comers wife
won the quilt.
They had already had a great time, but
winning the quilt put the icing on the
cake. There
were also 2 birthdays that were recognized during
the
reunion, Donna Hillard, Silas Johnson's daughter was
given a Giant
Muffin with one candle & Jim Benton was
presented with a birthday cake
(with candles) at the
dinner. If there was anyone that did not have a
great
time, it has to be because they slept thru the 4 days.
Jesse, Lou
& Kristie (our daughter that helped us in
OK City) will be doing the
hospitality room in
Savanna. If anyone has any suggestions please
pass
them along. By the way, I had to promise this to Helen
to help bribe
her & Hal to do the Savanna Reunion.
They are really working hard to
prepare another
memorable reunion for all of us. For those of you
that
have never made a reunion and you are waiting for a
special
one.....THIS IS IT!!! Start now making your
plans to attend. We are looking
forward to seeing you
there, so please come by the hospitality room and
say
hello. Love to all, JESSE & LOU Darden
