2005 Biannual Reunion
August 15-19, 2005
Savannah, GA
Registration due before July 10, 2005!

Dot Lubic

We were called this morning at 6 AM by the hospital wanting permission to put Andrew back on the ventilator. After getting reassurance they could keep his vital signs stable until we got there, Cathy and I took off in a hurry.  We got all his doctors together for a conference, and after assessing all the information, we decided to put him back on the ventilator to give his lungs a little more time to heal.  He will continue getting dialysis as dictated by his daily lab values.

This is a step backwards but we continue to be hopeful based on what all the specialists are saying.  We are just taking things one day at a time.

Dot and Cathy

Dear Old-Timers

As I indicated in an earlier e-mail, Erma & Arnold T. have their tickets and prior to arriving in Savannah will stop in Minneapolis for a few days to visit John Krumm and then come to Fargo to visit us.  We will all leave for Savannah on August 15th.

My recommendation is that we take the Donation Fund and divide it by the number of visiting guests and give each one a lump sum.  I would believe the registration charge might have enough surplus in the kitty to provide the guests with complimentary tickets to the events scheduled.  The guests from Belgium were able to get tickets for about $384.  There is a "Visit USA Booklet" that allows for stops a various places.  It would not be fair if we tried to distribute the funds by reimbursing for airline tickets.

We still need to determine the interest of those in Le Muy and I don't have their e-mail address.  I don't think we should try to handle it by snail mail.  Howard, you probably can  call Michael and Eric to determine their interest.  Their number is 011 33 494 4512 79.  Bill Bob Christie for the call; he has lots of money.

Someone suggested earlier that we invite the mayors of various towns. However, the mayors change from time to time and I believe our allegiance should be to the long time supporters of our Unit

As I said earlier, neither Marie Gaspar or Aime Leocard are able to travel any longer.

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the e-mail.  We arrived home yesterday afternoon, after a couple of days in Las Vegas.  Now that we have done that, we don't have to do it again, as far as I am concerned.
We had a good time at the reunion and enjoyed seeing all our old friends and making some new ones.  See you soon, Bob and Nancy Lecklider.

Howard Hensleigh

Ben:  Since you have met him, go ahead and contact Eddy now.  Until he came along, a glider outfit got credit for retaking Manhay.  We will not know how big the kitty is for some time, so we cannot promise a definite amount at this time. However, if we find out  the needs, we can allocate certain sums now if necessary from the funds we already have.  Howard Hensleigh
Note to Dick Seitz--Tom Cross and I have been trying to get in touch with you.  HH

Gentlemen,

I thought I should finally get caught back up with the roster changes.  I re-checked all of Bob Christie's forwarded changes as well as checking the Thunderbolt.  I will get word to Dave Barry and Forrest Wellman about where each other are (from the last Thunderbolt).

I hope you are all well.  I have been extraordinarily busy with work
projects, but I guess that is better than the alternatives.

 Take care and best regards,

Tom Reber

Ben, I received a note from Rita Gardner of Salt Point, NY. Does anyone know her husband's name and unit. Just had a talk with Cam Gauthier up in the wilds of NY State. He is looking forward to Savannah. Our daughter with the three by-pass surgery is doing fine. Keep the news coming. The Thunderbolt is only as good as our 517th family makes it with news of their comings and goings, family and friends.  The next issue will be out in June.  (To Donna, I am out of the 2004 4thQtr.issue and the 2005 1st Qtr.  I have had a number of requests. Do you have any more.) That is all for now from the Sun 'n Fun capitol. Bob

Bob, If Rita Gardner doesn't know own husbands' name, she needs more help than I can give her.-Ben
