Dear Mr Barrett,
Dear Mr Hensleigh,

I would like so much to be with you at your reunion but the obligations with my job, it's is not always easy... !

The place of the State of Georgia was ideal for me, because I could have the opportunity to rent a car and going to the North-Carolina to Maryland via the National Archives near Washington DC.  So' it will be for an another occasion !

My book is close and soon publishing, but I will pursue my researches and my interest by this bad period of the battle of the Bulge. I promise you that we will never forget your participation and when I'm going to some ceremonies, my soon Raphael, two years and half, come with me...     You will be astonished, but many young people in Belgium are interesting by this period.   I know some others author of book and all of us,  we are born many years after the war.  Actually, an other book is just publishing on the area of Vielsalm - Baraque de Fraiture. This book was write by the the young of the village of Hebronval.   I have also a friend (you know him probably), Eddy Lamberty from Grand-Halleux, that write a book on his area (Trois-Ponts - Vielsam - Lierneux sector).

We don't forget in Belgium and you will be always in our thought.
Please tell to all your friends at your reunion this message. In Belgium, we don't forget you.

Thanks for all.  Dear Mr Barrett and Mr Hensleigh, I stay in touch and you will receive soon, each my book (Sorry in French) !

Very often I'm looking on your very interesting website !

As promised a few years ago, you can take out from my book anything you want for your website !

Very Sincerely,

Eddy

Hi Ben
Thank you for your email birthday greetings.  Like so many of us troopers, I hit the big 80 on this past Wednesday.

My two boys and I were to jump on Saturday but the weather did not cooperate and we weren't able to  do so Sunday.  Outside of that, I had a most wonderful and joyful happy birthday any person could hope for.  When I see you here in Savannah come August I will tell you all about it.  Helen is a blessing that has been given to me from above.

I didn't write back right away because my dad and Howard have been hounding me as
well.  I have turned last summer's files upside down - literally - to try to find
numbers, mailing addresses, email addresses - anything.  Everything I have, I've
given to Dad (and he to Howard).  I have even (a month ago at least) emailed the
tourism department at Le Muy, asking that they forward the message to Eric and
Jean Michel.  Phone numbers don't seem to be working.  We need to remind
ourselves that this is a very small operation, that it is a small set of
communities in the (still relatively rural) south of France, and that these kids
do it as a hobby and labor of love.  They both have careers, and who knows - they
may have had family business or some other issues this spring.  Also, I don't
know if our mayor friend, Hubert Zekrie, is still in office.  I don't know when
elections are or when his term expires.  He was wonderful to us all last summer,
but I don't know if he's still there.  I'll do a little more internet digging.
And as I'd mentioned to Dad, who knows if they even could join us this year.
Although there were additional 60th anniversary things happening last year, Gene
told us that it was rather like what we experienced when we were there.

Thank you sooooooo much, we are trying to get a shadow box up with his
decorations, etc. and a plaque with his story as well as his photo. This
will help immensely. I'm an old paratrooper myself so this is the least
I can do for him.

Ken is responding to information that I gave him after a phone call to Clark Archer. He is seeking information about Cpl. Frank Hayes the last 517 man KIA.--Ben
