This may be of interest to the troops. On Wednesday afternoon before
the Men's Business meeting on Thursday I asked Tom Reber if it was possible to
tell from his roster how many people on the roster lived West or East of the
Mississippi. Tom worked his magic and the next morning he handed me the
numbers and even broke it down by state. I planned to use these numbers at
our Business Meeting but the opportunity didn't present it self The
following facts may be of interest to some of you.

Hi Ben,
Nice to see Mail Call in full swing again! That means you
made it back to
Boston safe and sound IN SPITE of the 3 hr. flight delay!
Mary and I
enjoyed getting together and "chewing the fat" at the airport
while all of
us were waiting to "chute up and head for the next drop
zone".
It was wonderful to meet both you and Bob in person in Savannah.
Mary and I
just wanted to drop you an email and thank you and Bob again for
all the
wonderful (continuing) work on mail call and the web site. I wanted
to pass
along a comment from one of my colleagues at the Coast Guard. He is
an ex
Command Sgt. Major with the 504th PIR, 82nd airborne. He knew I was
going
to the 517th reunion and when I got back to work Monday he asked me
about
the reunion and we talked about he experience and "the spirit of
the
517th". He sounded interested, so I directed him to the web site for
more
information. A while later he stopped by my office to tell me how
impressed
he was with the site. He had nothing but praise for the work that
you and
Bob are doing on the web site, in fact, his comments
were...."I'm
impressed! This is really amazing! These guys are still 100%
Airborne after
all these years."
Mary and I also want to echo all the
positive comments you've gotten so far
on the reunion...the whole Cross
family had a wonderful time...it was
wonderful to be together as a family, to
meet old friends and make new ones.
General Seitz address was inspiring
and touched us all.
Our thanks to the Beddows for all the hard work and
dedication that were key
ingredients in providing a most memorable
reunion.
Take care and say hello to Bob for
us.
Regards,
Jim Jennis & Mary Cross
