2005 Camp Toccoa Reunion
Oct 7-9, 2005
Jim Mortensen

Hi Ben,

It was my first ever 517th reunion of any kind. At the end of the first day,
I felt like I ought to turn around and go home. I recognized no one! And all
I could do was to examine each name tag as it flew by at top speed. Awkward!

Then, the next morning, I recognized a face . . . And, believe it or not, a
voice. The face was Westbrook, the famous NCO who met the two passengers
that were thrown off the train at Toccoa, and yelled "GIVE ME 50 PUSHUPS!"
We did not and could not comply, having just spent 4 harrowing days on the
train as we moved from Denver to the famous camp. But he forgave us and we
got to know each other rather well over the following months.

The voice was, of all people, Gautier, the imp from C Battery who has
changed inside far less than he has outside. It was great to see him, and
HEAR him again.

Chris Linder
Hi Ben:

I would like to jump on the bandwagon also and if there is a DVD or video of Gen. Seitz’s speech I would love to purchase it.

Thanks,

Chris Lindner

For Darrel Egner and Tom Reber,
Don't forget the 10 troopers who live in Utah.  Tom had me contact them a year or so ago and them all seem to be doing well

Dorothy McKenzie

Hi Ben...Hope you got  home safely.  I'm so glad I had a chance to say good bye to you and Pat and Roland Orengo.  We all were flying separate places, but with "one heart" for the time we spent together.      I spoke with Helen a few days ago, and I think she is finally ready to say AAAAAH.    I called Dick also, and he and Ginny got home okay.    Now with all the well deserved accolades for Helen and Hal I can only add...BEST REUNION EVER!!!!Please do me a favor.  I'd like the address for the Orengos in Sospel.  Thanks.   P.S....  the rain from Katrina just started here.  Hope we don't float away!       Dorothy
