We just received the book "the unknown dead" and we have been very touched. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts. I can read that the place where I was in the cellar with my mother, brothers and neighbours in Lierneux is mentioned in this book, Arnold was in Stoumont, where Peiper was stopped by the americans. We shall have motions when we shall read those real stories in our area. The author even speaks of Father Fenaux who was killed by the germans in jevigné/Lierneux. There is a monument in Jevigné, near the church dedicated to Father Fenaux, a laying of a wreath  every year in august for his memory. All this is very moving. I will try to read and translate this book for the members of CADUSA as soon as possible. Now, we are awaken after this fantastic trip in USA. Did we dream ? we have been so happy to meet all our friends, everybody was so kind to us and treated us royally. Thank you for your welcome and the way you spoiled us. Thanks to all the americans who spoke french with us, Allan, Claire, Rick, Vanessa, Gary and... I sent an E-mail to Helen and Hal and it came back "error" -please, tell them how we are grateful for their kindness, Helen is like a real busy bee, full of attention and more, you can feel that she loves people and Savannah will be a marvellous souvenir for us and for ever. Don't forget, the US veterans and their family are always welcome in Ardenne and we 'll never forget their sacrifices. We are very upset with the tragedy in Mississipi and Louisiane. We are so sad for all those people who lost everything or died. It is a real drama and we have a special prayer for those states.  Next year, we would like to visit in France this area with Ste Roseline, Col de Braus, Sospel, Draguignan, Le Muy... now because of you we have new friends in France ! Best wishes to all of you and merci, merci, merci and Love. Arnold and Irma TARGNION. Maria sends her love to her friends of the 517th.

The third party in the Niece Oct 1944 photograph that may be 1st Lieutenant Annon (Andy) Jorgen.  Mark Lendreth had been able to identify three of the men. I have studied the web site photographs and have found a picture of Lt. Jorgen. Can anyone verify this or the correct name of this man and the other unidentified.

Hi to all,

I contacted the VFW in Lancaster and received a new address for Gonzalo Chico.  Could not find a telephone number, but I'm assuming he is living with a son or daughter.

It is :

3104 East 5th
Los Angeles, CA  90063

I mailed a letter to that address with a SASE and hopefully I will get a reply.  Rick may try to drive up there one day and check it out.  Does anyone else live close?

Hi to all, especially, "A" Company.

We had an e-mail from Barney Hekala yesterday afternoon.  He had talked to Bob and Katy Rust on the phone.  They were in Kansas City, staying with friends and they were fine.  They had left ahead of Katrina.  Did not know if they had anything left of their home.  We asked Barney to send us any address or phone number for Bob and Katy that he might have and if we get any further information we will pass it on. Take care, Bob (Doc) and Nancy Lecklider

I had a phone call from Bob Rust, A Company, yesterday. He left his home in New Orleans just before the storm hit and called me from KC. Don't know when he and Katie will be able to go back to New Orleans. Barney Hekkala
