Hello Ben, 517th, & A Co.
Sarg got another call from Katie Rust. She and Bob are now at
their
son's home in Durango, Colorado. They are OK, but still don't
know
the condition of their home in New Orleans. It is located in
an area
of the city that is NOT under water, but they left before
the
hurricane arrived. Their phone in Durango is 970 375
1720
Love to all, Sarg & Gene Snyder Co.

Dar Ben: Boom Boom had to remind me about the pictures
submitted by
Don Sliker on E-Company that Mark Landreth
had. Well, I do think now
that the one of the unknown officer in
one of the pictures was my
husband, 1st Lt. Andy Jorgen. At
first I didn't think so, but then I
compared it with another similar one I
have and believe it to be him.
I would write to Don Sliker and Mark
Landreth, or rather e-mail them,
but I don't have their e-mail
addresses. Could you perhaps print ALL
the e-mail addresses
again. I have an old list but that is not much
help.
I did write a long time ago to Roy Landreth, but he
wouldn't
tell me anything. I don't remember Don Sliker.
When I wrote my book
about Andy I wrote to all the men in
E-company. Did get some nice
replies. Dick Hammel wouldn't
say anything, either. Perhaps they
didn't know him, or just didn't want
to talk about the war.
Thanks. Virginia Jorgen (Andy's
widow)

Hi Ben,
It sure was nice to see all the letters from the members and their
families who were able to attend the reunion. Would love to make one in the
future.
I bring bad news again. On Sat. afternoon our son Gary died of a
massive heart attack in Rochester, NY. He was on Dialysis because of kidney
failure and had a stroke the week before Leo went in the hospital. He was in a
nursing home for rehabilitation for the stroke and had hoped to get him so
he could go in an assisted living home. I guess with all he had to face it was a
blessing but since he was only 61 and died 4 months after his father Leo Turco,
it has been tough on me and our family. He leaves 3 children. Two daughters in
college and a 15 year old son who lives with Gary's x-wife. Guess it is not good
to give bad news as I know everyone has their own. Especially this terrible
hurricane that took so many young lives.
Just wanted you to know Ben.
Thanks for keeping up the letters. I read them daily and Leo used
to enjoy me telling him what was going on with our members.
Best wishes, Joyce Turco

Hi Ben! Hope all is well with you and your
family.
From the info I have received thru our Email the 517th Reunion
was a spectacular success. I am very sorry I was unable to
attend.
Need your help! Can you provide me the Email address of the
lady who will help in the preparation of one's history. I believe she has
helped a couple of our members in preparing their WWII
experience.
Continue your good work in binding us ole soldiers
together.
