Mail Call #974 of September 4th. I think your idea of a 517 Chorus is
terrific. All we'll need is one Bass, one Baritone, and one tenor.
Any volunteers? We'll plan a group of patriot songs including John
Lissner's famous [or infamous] " The Mulligan Guard" I have
both lyrics and music to send to our singers. You may
have noticed the "we" in all of this. That is because my cohort in the
"Para-Bear " napping was your dear wife Betti. So, we, (Betti
and I) will conduct together. More plans at the "Mini."
Ben, just a quick note. I saw the addition to the website on The Invasion of Southern
France. It was terrific and is as good a detailed description of the
operation as I have seen in terms of how it was pulled together and the units
that were attached to the Airborne Task Force. I also agree with my Dad's
assessment that a lot of lessons that have been lost to history that would be
extremely valuable to re-learn today in terms of rapidly mobilizing, configuring
and deploying military assets. Kudos to Bob for getting it added to the
website so quickly. Next on the list
is to get the "after action" reports edited so we can add them as well. I
will try to carve out some time in the next couple months to go through the rosters and try to correct the spelling and the names. The
woman I had enter this into Microsoft WORD had difficulty reading some of the
old mimeographed copies of the reports and didn't understand a lot of the
military terminology. Hope all is well with you and your family. It
was great getting to talk with you in Savannah. -wayne

Hi Ben,
I will be glad to check out Kevin Barry's once
again......and then I will get back to you. I think a plaque would be very
nice. And Ben,...........I just never relax.....I am like the energizer
bunny........I just keep running.....and running.....and running.
You know there is a hurricane lurking around Florida and possibly
Georgia. Thank goodness it didn't come in mid-August. Now that would
have sent me over the edge.
I will be getting back to you
regarding the plaque. And indeed, you will see Hal and I in Florida in
January. I hope to stop by Dorothy MacKenzie's place and get her to the
Reunion also.
Talk to you later.

Dear Ben, Thank you so much for sending me the list --
all 27 pages
of it. I don't believe it, but I
actually found it after much
fooling around. I guess I've never
gotten anything like that before,
but that doesn't mean much. I
don't even know what most of the things on the computer are for.
Anyway, I do really thank you.
And I will be glad to send you my book
on Andy. I hope you will like
it.
Sincerely, Virginia
Jorgen
